I have recently just watched an Unsolved Mysteries Documentary on UFO's I'm not to sure what year it was from so maybe this is old news! In this documentary they gave several reasons why some crop circles can simply not be hoaxes or be created by humans in anyway I have not heard any of these facts before so would be interested to know if anybody else has and maybe has info that disproves them!

1. The base of the crop whatever crop it maybe in a hoax is always broken on the section that enters the ground in the other type the base has been softened bent over and the re-hardened again and the crop continues to grow as normal and can still be harvested!

2. Using sound equipment there is a noticable interference recorded near the centre of one of the circles wich dissapates the further away from the centre you move!

3. A study has been done into the cellular structure of the crops comparing samples from inside the formation to those outside it. The samples taken from outside the formation had cloudy crystals in an erratic pattern and those from within the formation had clearer crystals in a much more uniformed pattern!

In the documentary it mentioned footage that had been captured of the formation of 2 crop circles by a team of scientist under the name operation blackbird I was wondering if anybody knew anything about this footage? It also mentioned formations that had appeared in the Arctic circle If anybody has any pics would be great to see them!

I think this film was loosely based on Kurt Cobain's life.
The main character is a homeless young drug addict who prostitutes himself to men to feed his drug habit. I have read that Cobain was himself a homeless drug addict who slept under a bridge and hung around pickup spots (prostitution) to feed his drug habit. This was in the years before he became a successful musician.
Another interesting fact is that the main character suffered from narcolepsy, a condition in which sufferers of this disease pass out and fall into a sleeping state when under stress. Cobain was also narcoleptic .
The character in My Own Private Idaho is victimized by a brutal father and was from a broken home, and suffers 'blackout periods' where he does not know what happened.

It is also known that Cobain dabbled in the occult.

My Own Private Idaho was made by gay activist film maker Gus Van Sant, (WRITTEN AND DIRECTED) who also directed 'Last Days' , starring Brad Pitt, and loosely based on Cobain's last weeks of life.

Kurt Cobain and River Phoenix both were personal friends of Michael Stipe, another prominent gay rights advocate, and both Cobain and Phoenix died the same year.

Another eerie coincidence is that there is a scene in My Own Private Idaho where River Phoenix flies to Rome and has a blackout during a homosexual prostitution session with an Italian man, and mysteriously finds himself, presumably days later, on a plane back to Portland, while Cobain had his first brush with death after a concert in Rome. My guess is that if Cobain saw 'My Own Private Idaho' when it came out in late October 1991, or later, it would have had a major personal impact on his psyche.

For those of you who might not be aware, Trepanation is the procedure of boring a hole into a person's skull which thus enable more air to reach the brain. This is something that we seem to naturally go through as children.
As far as I have been able to ascertain our skull does not completely seal air tight until we are in the 6- 8 years of age bracket.
The effects of Trepanation are believed to be quite astonishing, including being able to achieve a higher state of conscious as well as increasing a persons metabolism and giving you more energy which is quite similiar to turning the clock back so to speak, there are claims that this procedure can also increase memory power and creativity.
I was hoping to get others views on this highly topical and controversial procedure. I'm pretty sure it's illegal or at the very least you'd be hard pushed to find a surgeon willing to perform the operation although it is apparently almost completely safe if done properly, it's when people can't find a surgeon and do a D.I.Y operation with a powerdrill that things seem to have gone pear shaped resulting in death/lobotomisation/ a vegetated state etc.
Apparently John Lennon took an interest in this and contemplated it.

1. The most basic motivation that former members would have to lie is simple: revenge. They feel that they were somehow wronged by the church, and their desire for vengeance has outstripped their sense of ethics.

Examples:

*Decker, as mentioned above, was excommunicated from the church for serial adultery.

*Loftes Tryk was tried and convicted in criminal court for a sex crime, and upon receiving his conviction he was excommunicated.

*Grant Palmer was removed from his position as a paid seminary teacher for heterodoxy and professional misconduct (holding his students academically responsible for his own personal opinions) and transferred to a series of less desirable postings within the Church Education System.

2. Another basic motivation is personal insecurity. Although they've justified to themselves why they left, they need to bring others with them as evidence of their being right. For these people, the psychological security inherent in having others come with them justifies lying. This, quite simply, describes quite a few individual critics I've encountered.

3. A third basic reason is financial gain. Within North America, there's a cottage industry for material that is hostile towards the church. All a person has to do is find a few old arguments, put a unique spin on them, find a publisher, and spend the rest of their life doing speaking tours and public appearances. It's rare for a critic of the church to be called out by anyone other than someone who is Mormon, and so few people within mainstream Christianity rarely catch on to how much bull they're being fed.
