ANALYSIS

How Croatian Wikipedia Made a Concentration Camp Disappear

Unlike Wikipedia in other languages, the Croatian version refers to the WWII Jasenovac concentration camp as a “collection camp” - as well as playing down fascist crimes and ignoring right-wingers’ controversies.

Sven Milekic | BIRN | Zagreb

With its nationalist sentiments, factual mistakes, lack of academic references and omitted facts about World War II history, Croatian Wikipedia is not a reliable source, analysts have told BIRN.

Articles that refer to the Croatian WWII fascist Ustasa movement and its crimes are criticised as particularly unreliable, ideologically loaded and imprecise, thus downplaying the crimes.

The clearest example is the Ustasa’s biggest concentration camp, Jasenovac, which in the title of the Croatian Wikipedia article is referred to as “Jasenovac Collection Camp” - a term which does not have such negative connotations as ‘concentration camp’.

According to the Jasenovac Memorial Site, the Ustasa killed over 83,000 Serbs, Jews, Roma and anti-fascists in the camp between 1941 and 1945.

The camp was used as a concentration camp as well as a labour camp – in terms of labour being used to physically debilitate inmates, causing their deaths – and a death camp, as many detainees were executed at various sites in the camp system immediately or soon after their arrival.

The Croatian far right often refers to Jasenovac as a “collection”, “labour” or “punishment” camp.

Wikimedia entries in other languages – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian – refer to Jasenovac as a concentration or extermination camp in their titles.

But on Croatian Wikipedia, even the biggest Nazi death camp, Auschwitz, is referred to in the title of the entry as the “Auschwitz Collection Camp”.

Hrvoje Klasic, a historian at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies in Zagreb, told BIRN that “there is a large difference” between English-language and Croatian Wikipedia.

He explained how sometimes he tells his students to look something up on English-language Wikipedia if the article has plenty of academic and scientific references.

“However, I would never give Croatian Wikipedia to my students if they want to learn something about the Croatian history. I myself saw that a number of articles and topics are done in a completely revisionist manner, with highly emphasised nationalist and, I would dare to say, pro-Ustasa sentiment,” Klasic said, arguing that entries on World War II, socialist Yugoslavia and Croatia’s 1990s war.

While the article on the Jasenovac camp in English has 187 reference notes, along with 37 references to books and two to academic articles, the Croatian version has 57 reference notes - with a large number coming from right-wing media and private blogs - and only three books.

Klasic said that although Jasenovac was in part a labour camp, referring to it as that alone is misleading.

“It’s completely the same as if I wrote a book on the Third Reich and simply stated that during its time, employment and industrial production went up, saying that citizens’ living standard improved. That is all correct if you exclude all that happened to all the others who weren’t seen as part of the German nation,” he said.

He also argued that by referring to Jasenovac as simply a collection and labour camp is to use “the same language” as Ustasa propaganda, which did not publicly mention killings in the camp. All this downplays the crimes committed there, Klasic said.

BIRN asked Croatian Wikipedia’s administrators for a comment, but received no reply.

In the talk section of the entry on Jasenovac, where readers can put questions to the administrators, they were asked about the use of the term “collection camp” back in 2012.

An administrator using the alias SpeedyGonsales replied that the camp was officially called Jasenovac Collection Camp by the Ustasa and that the description ‘concentration camp’ was just a “colloquialism”.

“Without a valid explanation, I do not see a reason for doing factual and linguistic violence to the article for the benefit of a colloquialism. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, let’s respect the principles of an encyclopaedia,” SpeedyGonsales said.

Wikipedia in English labels Jasenovac as a "concentration camp", while German puts "KZ", an acronym for Konzentrationslager (concentration camp). Photo: Wikipedia screenshot.

Goran Hutinec, a historian at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies in Zagreb said the problem lies in the fact that the official name for Jasenovac “does not truly describe the function of the camp”.

“It looks as someone isn’t aware that the term used back then [collection camp] may not have same meaning now. I mean, it partly had that function… but clearly not only that function,” Hutinec told BIRN.

He said that Jasenovac was used for the temporary internment of political prisoners – like Croatian politician Vlatko Macek, who spent five months in Jasenovac before being released – as well as a place for the execution of people “who didn’t even enter the camp upon arrival, but were quickly transported to nearby killing sites”.

Hutinec argued that even Auschwitz had “ten different purposes for which it was used” – as a death camp and a labour camp, amongst other purposes. He added that the same could be said about Jasenovac and other WWII-era camps run by the Ustasa.

He further argued that the Croatian Wikipedia has “many shortcomings, factual mistakes and ideologically loaded language” compare to the English and German versions.

The Jasenovac entry on Croatian Wikipedia has yet more disputed sections.

Almost 40 per cent of the entry on Jasenovac is given over to allegations that the name-by-name list of the victims of the camp – compiled by Jasenovac Memorial Site – is false.

It highlight allegations that with the number of people killed has been manipulated, and also talks about a post-WWII Communist-run camp at the same site, although there is no valid historical proof that it ever existed.

In these passages, Croatian Wikipedia mostly focuses on a highly controversial Zagreb-based NGO called the Society for Research of the Threefold Jasenovac Camp. The NGO mostly involves people who are not professional historians, who estimate the death toll as low as 1,500 – significantly lower than any other historians.

In the entry on Jasenovac, Croatian Wikipedia gives Igor Vukic, the Society’s secretary, a professional journalist, the same credit as professional historians.

Spanish Wikipedia refers to Jasenovac as a "concentration camp", while French labels it an "extermination camp". Photo: Wikipedia screenshot.

The English version mentions disputes about camp’s death toll, offering figures which have been offered by many historians, demographers and others, but it does not state that the current numbers have manipulated, nor does it mentions the alleged post-war Communist camp which is claimed by the Society to have existed.

Instead, the English version gives a lot of space to describing the living conditions in the camp, the mass murders committed there, and how many people coming to Jasenovac were “scheduled for systematic extermination”.

In describing the conditions, crimes and killings at the camp, Croatian Wikipedia gives one quote from a former inmate and one additional sentence.

The distinct difference that Croatian Wikipedia displays when covering the Ustasa past can be seen in entries on the movement’s leader, Ante Pavelic.

“Ante Pavelic… was a Croatian fascist general and military dictator who founded and headed the fascist ultranationalist organisation known as the Ustase in 1929 and governed the Independent State of Croatia a fascist Nazi puppet state built out of Yugoslavia by the authorities of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy,” the first sentence of the article in English reads.

It mentions large-scale crimes against Serbs, Jews, Roma and anti-fascists in the second sentence.

Croatian Wikipedia describes Pavelic as “a Croatian politician, lawyer, leader and founder of the Ustasa regime and poglavnik [head] of the Independent State of Croatia”.

The English version gives several times more space to the crimes of Pavelic’s regime and its dictatorial nature.

Also related to the topic of the Ustasa, in its article on the Croatian film director Jakov Sedlar, Croatian Wikipedia leaves out all the controversies surrounding his documentary on the camp, ‘Jasenovac - The Truth’.

The film, which premiered in Zagreb in April 2016, has been strongly criticised for appearing to downplay the crimes committed at the camp.

While the Croatian Wikipedia entry does not mention the issue at all, the English version has an entire section headlined ‘Controversies’, as well as a whole separate article on the film, mentioning all the alleged evidence that Sedlar used which was disputed.

Croatian Wikipedia also does not scrutinise some other controversial public figures.

In its entry on former Culture Minister Zlatko Hasanbegovic, Croatian Wikipedia completely leaves out weekly newspaper Novosti’s discovery that he wrote an article for a pro-fascist bulletin called the Independent State of Croatia in 1996, in which he described the Ustasa as “heroes and martyrs”. The English-language Wikipedia mentions it, and offers links.

Public figures on the left are put under much more scrutiny by the Croatian Wikipedia.

In the entry on ‘Left Extremism in Croatia’, veteran peace activist Vesna Terselic, Croatian Serb leader Milorad Pupovac and some anti-fascist organisations are named as proponents of extremism who block attempts to deal with Communist-era crimes.

Sometimes certain contributors on the Croatian Wikipedia have gone too far and the administrators – who approve all the articles – have had to step in and make changes.

When Predrag Lucic, a journalist, editor, writer, and one of the founders of the legendary anti-establishment magazine Feral Tribune died in January, the initial Croatian Wikipedia entry offered a somewhat insulting description of his achievements.

“By mocking people with different political positions, he has achieved tremendous success among Yugonostalgics, admirers of communism and opponents of independent Croatia. There is not a single serious journalistic piece [by Lucic] that a cultural critic would give a passing grade,” it read.

Note:

Who owns Croatian Wikipedia?

The Wikimedia Foundation Inc, a US-based non-profit charitable NGO, is the owner of the Croatian version of Wikipedia.

However, the Wikimedia Foundation is not the founder of the Croatian version, nor does it accept that it is responsible for the accuracy of its articles. It insists that it does not have any power over Croatian-language Wikipedia entries.

All the administrators and associates on Croatian Wikipedia are volunteers.

Amos Moses:
if it as music espouses things that are in opposition to christianity ...... then it is antithetical to it ...

TheKingofRhye:
Okay, fine. But what if it doesn't?

Amos Moses:
null set ..... it all pretty much does ...... either in word or in content or in context or in presentation ..........

TheKingofRhye:
I guess I missed the part of the Bible that had the commandment "thou shalt not rock".

Amos Moses:
you miss a lot of scripture ...... modern music is OF the world and antithetical to christianity ......

Tristan Fry:
How about instrumental modern music?

Amos Moses:
the beat and the instruments used are more central to the issue than anything else .........

Tristan Fry:
How can they be? There are no words.

Amos Moses:
deceptive then ... isnt it ........

Tristan Fry:
How do you deceive anyone when you say nothing?

Amos Moses:
saying something is not required ..... the music brings about an emotional response ...... words are not needed ...... the emotional response to it is antithetical to christianity .....

Tristan Fry:
No, I disagree. That makes no sense. If there are no words there is nothing but a visceral response to the music. Some people will like louder and more boisterous music and others quieter and more reflective. It is PURELY a matter of personal opinion and personal taste.

Amos Moses:
i do not care if you disagree ............. it is not a matter of "opinion" ...... Christ asks us to fill our minds with Him ...... the music causes that to be abandoned ...... it is antithetical to christianity ............. it is of the world ...... it is deceptive and the proof of that is .... you "disagree" ............ it is the same reaction of the mind to a drug ...... there are no words ..... and yet your mind is affected ........... the neuro-chemical reaction to the music is the drug .............

Tristan Fry:
You're not even talking about something that can be discussed with words, it's purely sounds that are going to be agreeable to some and disagreeable to others, so how can you even say any of this? Listening to music doesn't cause Christ to be "abandoned" from the mind, some of the most beautiful music in the world such as Handel's Messiah (which has many instrumental passages) puts the listener in mind of Christ very effectively.

Amos Moses:
drugs do not need words ...... sounds cause neuro-chemical effects and changes in the brain ..... or do you deny this ....."Listening to music doesn't cause Christ to be "abandoned" from the mind," ... it most certainly does ....... even "Handel's Messiah" .......... but that is not a modern work either ..... but the effects of music on the mind are not in dispute .............

Tristan Fry:
You still don't realize that what you're basically doing here is saying you understand God's taste in music better than anyone else. That's a ridiculous argument to be having so I'm not going to continue.

Quote# 137573

The great myth is essentially borne out by whatever one is likely to hear about Indians from non-specialist sources. Professor Clifton devotes several pages to fleshing it out, but it can be quickly summarized: Indians were spiritual, egalitarian, innocent people living in perfect harmony with the earth. They welcomed the white man, taught him the secrets of the wilderness, and shared with him the wisdom of their social institutions. In return, the white man enslaved and slaughtered the Indian, afflicted him with hideous diseases, and tried to destroy his culture.

Nevertheless, runs the myth, the Native American has survived. Though he has been dispossessed and politically emasculated, his spirit remains pure. As the white man begins to acknowledge the horrors he has wrought upon the Indian, so has he begun to study and appreciate the age-old wisdom and natural virtue to which all Indians, everywhere, are heir.

Like all myths, this one leaves certain things out: in this case, cannibalism, infanticide, ritual torture, geronticide, slaughter of prisoners, slavery, and the like. Such practices, though well substantiated, are seldom written about by historians and ethnographers for fear of violating what Prof. Clifton calls the Eleventh Commandment of the Indian business: Never Say No To An Indian. One of the Commandment’s corollaries prohibits writing or saying anything that Indians might not wish to hear. Most Indians know very little about their ancestors of centuries ago, and would vigorously deny accusations of slavery or cannibalism.

In Canada, certain agreeable fictions have semi-legal status. Whenever work crews find human bones at ancient camp sites, for example, they must take special measures not to violate the sacred dead. Broken or burnt human bones — evidence of certain now-embarrassing practices — can be treated like animal bones.

Stressing the Positive

On the stress-the-positive side of the myth we find the wisdom that the white man is supposed to have learned from the Indian. Every school child has heard of Squanto, the Algonquin who taught the Pilgrims to fertilize their corn with fish. As Lynn Ceci points out in a fascinating essay, there is no evidence that any North American tribes used fertilizer of any kind. Squanto, who had a very interesting and well-documented career, probably learned about it in Newfoundland, where he lived for some time among English settlers who routinely fertilized with fish.

School children do not learn that Squanto had lived in both England and Spain, spoke fluent English, and was hardly the noble, simple savage the history books make him out to be. As Dr.Ceci points out, the image of generous Squanto tends to obscure the more accurate picture of Indians who often attacked and killed settlers.

Another part of the great Indian myth that has recently been picking up steam, is that early Americans learned about democracy and the advantages of unity by studying the Iroquois Confederation. One of the authors traces the origins of this myth, and explodes the idea that the Constitution could have been influenced, in any way, by the matrilineal and hereditary form of representation practiced by the Iroquois.

One reason such preposterous notions make any headway at all is that it has become nearly obligatory to describe Indian societies as idyllically egalitarian, even “non-sexist.” Of course, there were hundreds of different tribal societies with different customs, but all of them had well defined sex roles that would horrify Gloria Steinem. Often, women were treated scarcely better than beasts of burden.

As for egalitarianism, it is difficult for bare subsistence-level hunters and gatherers to practice anything else, but as soon as material surplus appeared, some people got more of it than others. Leland Donald writes about the Tutchone of the southern Yukon, who lived on land so harsh as to be nearly uninhabitable. Nevertheless, their society was divided into hereditary classes of rich, poor, and slaves. As Dr. Donald puts it, “even in conditions that seem ideal for the presence of the classic egalitarian Indian society, it is possible for marked inequalities to emerge.”

The potlatches and ruinous gift-giving that were required for status among the more prosperous Northwest Indians are well known, but somehow coexist with the myth that Indians all lived in innocent classlessness. Even well known expressions like “low man on the totem pole” fail to puncture the myth.

Another important part of the image is the perfect harmony with nature in which Indians are said to have lived. Once again, sparsely scattered, stone-age people have very little choice about the matter, but “Mother Earth” is central to the myth. All Indians, it is said, saw the earth as their beloved mother. Hills were her breasts, streams were mother’s milk, and vegetation was her lovely hair.

Astounding as it may seem, one of the authors explains that the entire Mother Earth story can be traced to a single statement made by a single Indian in 1885. There is virtually no other evidence that Indians thought of the earth as mother. Nevertheless, the Mother Earth belief is now so widely attributed not only to American Indians but to all primitive peoples that it is frightful heresy to point out how unsubstantiated it is.

Not surprisingly, there are plenty of entrepreneurs — Indian and non-Indian — who have parlayed the notion of the noble, nature-wise Indian into a means of parting gullible whites from their money. People with names like Rolling Thunder and Spotted Fawn do a brisk business promoting sweat lodges, sun dances, purification ceremonies, or whatever else aging hippies can be made to pay for. These ceremonies bear only a vague resemblance to anything the Indians of the past ever did, but there is a steady market for them.

According to another author, the same can be said for the pottery sold on the Pamunkey Indian reservation in Virginia. The Pamunkey stopped making pottery in the 1890s and started up again in the 1930s only because the state of Virginia paid to establish a pottery school on the reservation. Now tourists happily buy “Indian” pots, decorated with stick figure “writing” that is likewise a 20th century invention.

The High Counters

Minor frauds like these are relatively harmless. Deliberate attempts to manipulate thinking about Indians are more serious. David Henige of the University of Wisconsin reports that there is a small academic industry devoted to inflating the population estimates of Pre-Columbian America. If evidence can be found that tens of millions of healthy, happy Indians were living on the continent before the white man arrived, then the reduction of their numbers through warfare and disease can be made to seem all the more heinous.

The High Counters, as Mr. Henige calls them, pore over ancient accounts, pick the most exaggerated population estimates they can find, and solemnly pass them along as wholly credible. One scholar, for example, believes that a single energetic priest actually baptized, and counted, 14,000 Indians in a single day — one every six seconds, ‘round the clock. Others think that when Cortes said he faced an army of “more than 149,000” men, he can be relied on to have counted them accurately.

As Mr. Henige points out, numbers like these are just another way of saying “a lot,” but it is the scholars who are prepared to believe the worst of the colonizing white man who have the deepest faith in his ability to count people in crowds. Other High Counters would have it that European diseases swept through native tribes before the white man found them, killing up to half the population before Europeans could even start counting them.

If, by whatever means, the High Counters can gin up enough pre-Columbian Indians, they can then trot out the great, anti-white totem word, “genocide,” when they talk about the legacy of Columbus. The University of Oklahoma has even published a book called American Indian Holocaust and Survival.

Indian Givers

Present descendants of invented Indians have woven the strands of myth into a mighty whip with which to beat the white man. They have, for example, mobilized reservoirs of public sympathy for huge land claims. Allan van Gestel, who has defended current owners against such claims, estimates that since 1970, Indian law suits have clouded the title to 35 million acres in the Eastern United States alone. This is an area the size of Austria or Ireland.

Indians can always call on teams of eager whites who will work for them pro bono. Clever lawyers have based most land cases on an obscure Congressional proclamation of 1783 that forbade the states to buy land from Indian tribes without federal permission. This was six years before the Constitution even went into effect, and several state governments had bought land from Indians even before the proclamation. This has not stopped tribes from trying to get back land that was duly purchased — and that has been enormously improved in the last two hundred years.

Public sentiment, stoked by tales about the invented Indian, is such that Indians can virtually monopolize the services of scholars and historians; to testify “against” Indians can ruin a career. Some Indian claims have cost current land-owners hundreds of millions of dollars.

Today, the federal government has primary responsibility for dealing with Indians, but states and Canadian provinces also manage publicly funded Indian programs. According to Steven Feraca, a long-time worker at the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), all of these bureaucracies have long been given over to race-based hiring and promotion. Preferences at the Bureau are so blatant, and career prospects for non-Indians so bleak, that although Indians are only 1/2 percent of the US population, they hold 75 percent of the jobs at BIA.

In the last few decades, the “Indian desks” of virtually all branches of government have been turned over to Indians, so that decisions that are supposed to be made in the names of larger jurisdictions are in the hands of unabashed partisans. Tribal “leaders” are now often indistinguishable from Indian-affairs bureaucrats, with no way to sort out the resulting conflicts of interest. What is more, as another author points out, chronic lateness and absenteeism in these offices are routinely excused by the notion that Indians work according to mysterious earth rhythms rather than by the white man’s clock.

In sum, both in Canada and in the United States, Indians have succeeded in becoming a kind of Uber-citizen. Off the reservation, they have all the usual legal rights, in addition to the strenuous affirmative-action preferences that are now obligatory. On the reservation, they enjoy a kind of extraterritoriality, which exempts them from many taxes and laws, and entitles them to a complete array of Indians-only health and welfare benefits. They have suckled at the public teat for longer than any other group in North America, and bear the stigmata of listlessness and squalor to prove it.

Next year will mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of America. What, by all rights, should be a proud celebration of the spread of civilization to the New World, has already been hijacked by cultural relativists who see in the white man nothing but wickedness. The October issue of National Geographic begins a series of “quincentenary” articles, in which the editors flatter themselves on letting Indians write from “the most intimate — and perhaps truest — perspective of all.”

Such a series is likely to be filled with the exploits of invented Indians — more of what Prof. Clifton calls “perfectly enchanting fiction . . . that is both believed by its impresarios and presented as believable to others.” His book, impressively researched and stuffed with fascinating details, is the perfect antidote.

A vegan activist in France who posted a Facebook message saying the killing of a butcher by an Islamist militant was "justice" has received a suspended prison sentence, court sources say.

She reportedly wrote that she had "zero compassion" for the victim of the supermarket attack in Trèbes last week.

Her seven-month sentence was issued as punishment for condoning terrorism.

The victim, butcher Christian Medvès, was one of four people killed by gunman Radouane Lakdim on 23 March.

The animal rights activist was prosecuted under France's tough anti-terror laws by a judge at a court in Saint-Gaudens, not far from Toulouse, in the south-west of the country.

Condoning terrorism carries a maximum seven-year jail sentence and a fine of up to €100,000 (£88,000).

Police said they were alerted to her Facebook post on Monday evening.

"So does it shock you that a murderer gets killed by a terrorist? Not me, I have zero compassion for him, there is justice in it," she is said to have posted, according to a judicial source quoted by the French news agency AFP.

France's butchers federation said it had filed a legal complaint over the post, which has since been removed.

The woman's appearance in court came two days after a left-wing activist received a one-year suspended sentence for celebrating the death of another victim of the same attack, gendarme Arnaud Beltrame.

Lt-Col Beltrame, 44, was killed after offering himself in exchange for a hostage being held by Lakdim after he attacked the Super U grocery in Trèbes on Friday.

Col Beltrame was honoured as a national hero at a ceremony in Paris on Wednesday.

Sixteen people were injured, two seriously, in what was the worst jihadist attack under Mr Macron's presidency. The gunman was shot dead by police.

On a recent visit to perform in New York City, Taylor Swift commented, “Everybody here was someone else before,” Swift sings, before giving a shout-out to the city’s many gay-friendly neighborhoods (“You can want who you want/ Boys and boys and girls and girls”). Whether experienced New Yorkers like it or not, this is what the city represents to the rest of the country... SODOM AND GOMORRAH!!!

Clearly, Taylor Swift has no regard for God's commandments, Who prohibits all forms of sexual immorality (Colossians 3:5-6), which definitely includes homosexuality, adultery and bestiality. But the Holy Bible also condemns the sinful passions (lusts) which lead unto sin and death. In Colossians 3:5 we read the words, “evil concupiscence,” which means, “lust for that which is forbidden.” Also, we read the words, “inordinate affection,” which means “desires beyond normal limits.” That is, any sex outside of a legally-binding marriage commitment is sinful. Lust for sex outside of a marriage commitment is sinful. “Lascivious” in the Bible means “feeling morbid sexual desire.” Lasciviousness is an unhealthy spiritual and mental state of one's heart, which precedes committing sexual immorality. My point here is that Taylor Swift's raunchy music videos SEXUALIZE teenagers, which inspires unholy sexual desires in them, compelling their soul and body to engage in premarital sex, with multiple partners, and forgo any type of proper courtship which leads to holy matrimony.

Americans are as naive fatted lambs being led to the slaughter!

Toronto-based Sweet Jesus Ice Cream, which is expanding into the United States, is facing backlash and boycotts from Christians over its name. Detractors are calling the the frozen dessert purveyor’s moniker “blasphemous” and an example of “hate speech,” reports CBC News.

A Citizengo.org petition directed at the owners of Sweet Jesus has drummed up 10,341 signatures as of this posting, with a goal of 20,000.

“Choosing the name of our Lord for a brand of soft-serve ice cream is totally offensive and revolting,” says the petition’s creator. “Even if this were some innocent faux-pas, it would still be unacceptable! However, this is anything but a mere mistake. Both in their promotional materials and menu selection, it is plain to see that [founders Andrew] Richmond and [Amin] Todai have every intention of mocking Christ and Christianity.

“If anything could qualify as ‘hate speech,’ this is it!”

A separate petition on Change.org has nearly reached its target of 1,500 signatures. “God forbid the name of the prophet Muhammad was used in this manner or the name of Allah against Muslims,” this petition reads. “So why is it that the name of Jesus Christ can be openly mocked in our so-called fair, equal, and democratic society?”

Sweet Jesus, founded in 2015 by Richmond and Todai, has 20 locations, mostly in the Toronto area. The only American outpost, currently, is inside the Baltimore–Washington International Airport. However, more storefronts in the United States are reportedly on the way. A disclaimer on the company’s website explains the name “was created from the popular phrase that people use as an expression of enjoyment, surprise or disbelief,” and that Sweet Jesus does not intend to “offer commentary on anyone’s religion or belief systems.” In a statement provided to CBC News, Richmond and Todai say they have taken the petitions into consideration, but they note: “After a lot of thought, we have decided that we will not make a change.”

Mathematicians may not even wrap their heads around this because of the deep brainwash. They are generally some of the dumbest people out there. We had some of them in school and all of them were malnourished. They had deformities. They were autistic, nervous and underweight. Those aren't healthy and intelligent humans. The same kind are promoted by the mainstream. They are handicapped. They try to make up for it so that they can feel special, but to succeed in math, all you have to do is be a slave and follow the rules. These are people that calculate Yuri's curvature based on numbers which they religiously believe because it's all based on blind belief. Paedophile here. Contrary to popular belief being a paedophile doesn't suddenly make you into some kind of monster who has an irresistible urge (or any urge whatsoever for that matter) to molest children. I am a normal person like any one of you and like most people I have a very healthy moral code. There is no inner battle within me on whether or not I should go rape a child. Like any sane person I recognise that doing so would be one of the most reprehensible acts I could ever do.

I go on google image search and find normal pictures of clothed cute little girls and then I fantasise and jack off to them. That's it. Nobody gets hurt and I am not going to apologise for it. My fantasies are not about some kind of horrible rape either but about consensual encounters (and I know that's not something that can happen in the real world, don't worry).

I also oppose the notion that paedophiles should seek therapy. I suppose you should do that if you feel you are a danger to kids but I think most paedophiles simply know that they aren't, so it's not a problem. Any person who actually molests children is probably not just a paedophile but also a sociopath and probably doesn't want help either way.

I do not and have never seen my paedophilia as a problem. I would not opt out of it if I could. I enjoy my fantasies a great deal and they give me a sense of beauty and pleasure I would not want to give up. You normal people, ask yourself if you would want to give up your attraction to adult women/men, or do you in fact love being aroused by them?

My dream is that I'll live long enough to see the invention of matrix-like simulations where I can have sex with virtual children. Most likely I'll die long before such a thing is invented. But hey, I'm OK with that. You take what you can get. Maybe a child sex doll at some point? Either way, it is surprisingly easy to not rape kids. Really. People who do that have much bigger problems than being a paedophile

-
completely understand you, but I don't see why you wouldn't want to opt out if you could.

You compare it with "normal people" giving up their attraction to adult women/men. I don't think you can compare it that easily, because we can have an actual relationship with an adult woman/man if we want to, while you can't have one with children.

TL;DR I accept, but don't understand you

I should say that I am also attracted to adult women. However if I had to chose to get rid of one part of my sexuality it would be adults. I'm a forever alone guy anyway so it wouldn't change much, I'm not bathing in pussy by any means.

As for why, I guess the pedo sexuality simply feels richer than the adult one. I like both girls and women physically (appearance wise). But girls have the added benefit of their cuteness and innocence, and the terrible terrible taboo of it just makes it more exciting. Women feel boring in comparison.

If you still don't understand me, think of it like this. Some guy only likes 2 types of music. Iron Maiden and Mozart. He hates all other music. Out of those two he likes Mozart more. He has to get rid of one of them though. If he keeps liking Iron Maiden he can go to their concerts because they are still alive. Mozart he can only listen to from his record player however. But he likes Mozart much more than he likes Iron Maiden. He could never give up Mozart because the thought of never getting to listen to those symphonies again feels terrible. Like a great loss of beauty that has come to define him as a person.

Hope that helps.

[ on a post telling pedos to stay away from kids ]

Teachers can go into schools. People can go to the park during the day to have a picnic. I don’t think kissing or cuddling kids is okay, but a lot of “no contact” pedophiles seem to beg to differ so I added it.

Yeah as do I, like I said in my other reblog of this. And to your other response, it’s not about legality. It’s ok to cuddle (and cuddling doesn’t neccesarily mean in bed) with a kid we like, because, as long as it’s not anything harmful, we can do ANYTHING non pedophiles can do. As long as the child isn’t aware of our feelings, it’s exactly the same to them, therefore not harmful.

Really? Because my therapist told me something along the lines not to trust someone who has the pedophile heart as a cover and thinks looking at child porn is gross and thinks the whole MAP community is actively dangerous. You know that heart’s associated with child grooming right? Of course you do. You take a lot of inspiration from chomos

People wrongfully associate the heart with pro contact, it’s girl love in general, I use it to show my appreciation for young girls, because it’s NOT just a sexual attraction, so I would never hurt them. Trust me, your therapist is in the minority when it comes to professionals who specialize in this stuff. The anti community, with their suicide baiting and death threats, are much more dangerous than us. I didn’t say I HAD to. I’m saying if the opportunity presented itself, there’s absolutely no reason I should decline. If no kid has wanted to cuddle with you, well it’s your loss. Maybe shows you the kind of person you are. Let me tell you a few stories. One time I was staying at a friend’s house, and he was dating a girl who had a 4yo daughter, and for a few nights while she was there, she got out of her bed, and onto the couch with me. Did ask, didn’t know me. And I simply enjoyed the cuddle, wasn’t tempted even a little to do more. In the morning the first time, her mom said, “Yeah she doesn’t like sleeping alone.” Another time at a family get together, my 2nd cousin, who also didn’t know me very well, layed on the couch next to me while watching tv. While I had my arm around the 4yo because of the “in bed” setting and how young she was, so it was appropriate, I didn’t touch my 2nd cousin, because she was older and didn’t know her well and the setting wasn’t appropriate. And finally, at another friend’s house, he had two daughters who likes to periodically sit on my lap while at my computer. So as you see, it happens, non of it was instigated by me, therefore perfectly fine, and non predatory. It’s YOU’RE responsibility to educate yourself, and have an open, non bigoted mind. The majority of CSA is committed by situational offenders that get off on power and control, not the children themselves, not pedophiles. It’s a real statistic, look it up. We’re just as safe for children as anyone else. You’re fighting an ignorant, losing battle.

You’re sick. It’s not ignorant or bigoted to tell you to keep your hands off children you’re attracted to. It’s fucking depraved that you think what you’re doing is okay. Stop being a chomo and you’ll get less hate? Does he know you’re attracted to his daughters?

Of course not because he’d probably overreact just like everyone else does. Whether or not people know is irrelevant. Why? Because in the end, the situation is exactly the same as if a non pedo was in it. My feelings are my own business and don’t effect anyone else.

I see a lot of blogs saying maps don’t need therapy and are perfectly fine the way they are. Shouldn’t this be something that needs to stop?

And then there’s people like me. And I’m going to get hate for this, but I don’t care. If there was a “cure” I wouldn’t take it, and would rather die than it be forced on me. Why? Because A) I know for a FACT I will NEVER offend. My desire not to harm young girls is greater than my desire for them. And B) What Antis seem to fail to understand, is it’s not just sexual, it’s attraction in general. I love being able to appreciate the beauty of young girls, the way they look as well as the way they act, in a way most other people don’t. If I was “cured” I would feel like the world has gone from color, to black and white. Dull and grey. They make me smile, in a non sexual way.

Quote# 137520

Comfort in a space is a privilege. Like many forms of privilege, it is left unobserved and overlooked by those who have it. People at the 5Cs feel comfortable in the spaces they can claim ownership over, and uncomfortable in spaces where they cannot.

But those comfortable in a space often remain ignorant of their privilege because, paradoxically, those who are uncomfortable in the space will rarely enter it.

The 5Cs are known for their prominent outdoor programs, such as Pitzer Outdoor Adventure (POA) and On the Loose (OTL), which are some of the most funded extracurricular activities on the Claremont Colleges. However, POA and OTL trips are predominantly white spaces.

Both clubs claim to be accessible: while trips are open to any student wanting to go, not everyone feels the same ease in entering the outdoors. This discomfort is unfortunately caused by existing racial boundaries.

Historically, white people in imperialist conquests have appropriated land as their own. North America rightfully belongs to indigenous communities, yet it has been taken away from them by force. Consequently, a false sense of ownership of nature permeates white America.

Similarly, the image of a modern outdoor enthusiasts is white, as is the historical image of a naturalist. The great icons of nature – John Muir, Walt Whitman, Henry David Thoreau – are all white men. At present, most famous rock climbers are also disproportionately white.

This whiteness manifests in the term “outdoorsy” – a descriptor for those who spend a significant time in the outdoors, who are equipped with the necessary gear, and who feel connected to nature. The image of the “outdoorsy individual” is an exclusive classification that gives white people the authority to venture into the outdoors freely, leaving people of color behind.

In addition to racial barriers, financial barriers also prevent access to the outdoors. Many National Parks are hundreds of miles from large cities. Consequently, only those with access to a vehicle and money for gas will be able to enjoy them. Similarly, only students with economic privilege have the resources to attend summer programs that teach wilderness skills.

Thus, the emphasis on acquiring requisite skills and specific knowledge in order to access the outdoors excludes low-income individuals.

The exclusion is further perpetuated by the use of obscure outdoor lingo in descriptions of trips. No one who has never climbed before knows what a tri-cam, a grigri, or an ATC is. These terms are useful for ease of discussion among those who rock climb, yet remain obscure to those who have not.

Due to the predominance of whiteness in the outdoors, people of color have been denied access to the outdoors. The solutions, however, are numerous.

First, OTL and POA should continually affirm that nature exists as a collective space owned by all by virtue of being human, not by virtue of being white. POA should continue to hold discussions about race and inclusivity in their weekly meetings.

Second, the image of the outdoor enthusiast should not belong to white people. Conversely, people of color should feel comfortable identifying themselves as “outdoorsy”, and white individuals should exert caution as to not dominate ownership of the word.

Third, instead of declaring prerequisites, trips should proclaim their accessibility – their ability to accommodate everyone regardless of experience. POA and OTL should organize more accessible, entry-level workshops and trips that do not require advanced technical skills. Trips should advertise the skills you will learn, not the skills you will need.

Finally, OTL and POA should work with affinity groups to increase accessibility in the outdoors. These outdoor clubs should challenge their members to personally encourage those with no outdoors experience, and those who have been systematically excluded, to join a trip with them or attend a weekly meeting. Friendship can act as a portal to the wilderness for those who have historically been denied the privilege of comfort.

WINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Police say a mother intentionally crashed her SUV into a pole to prove to her two small children that God is real.

Investigators say Bakari Warren, 25, told officers after the crash that she did it on purpose to show her kids that if they believe, God would protect them.

The crash and the 5- and 7-year-old kids’ explanation were all caught on camera.

Police say Warren was driving northbound on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard when she crossed into the southbound lanes and drove head on into a concrete pole.

Sitting in a police car, her children explained what happened before the crash.

“You think she did it on purpose?” the officer asks.

“Yeah because she turned. Her eyes was closed and she was saying, blah, blah, blah, ‘I love God,’” one daughter said. “She didn’t want us to just have a car accident. She wanted us to know that God is real."

Police say Warren told her children to buckle up their seat belts just before she accelerated into the pole. Warren was frisked and handcuffed right after she got out of the SUV.

“When the officers asked the driver of the vehicle what had happened her first statement was to check her Facebook, and it would explain what happened,” Norcross police Sgt. Eric Butynski said.

Channel 2’s Tony Thomas found nothing directly referencing the incident on what appeared to be her Facebook page, but police say she later gave the same reasons as her kids -- to prove that God will protect them.

No one was hurt in the accident, but officers say it could have been much worse.

“It could have been a lot worse. It could have been heavier traffic at the time, she could have hit the pole at such an angle that she did more damage to the car,” Butynski said.

Warren remains in jail on $22,000 bond. She is charged with two counts of child cruelty.

Thomas learned the children are now with their grandparents.

Stefan Molyneux, a video blogger popular with far-right and alt-right audiences, claimed that it was actually “political correctness” and not loose guns regulations that enabled the mass murder of 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida last month.

In a video uploaded yesterday, Molyneux sought to break down what he believed to be “the ugly truth” about the March for Our Lives protests on Saturday, which attracted hundreds of thousands of people across the United States to stand with survivors of the shooting who demanded gun reform measures aimed at making schools safer.

“Now, of course, the proximate cause for all of this was the shooting in Broward County recently—the shooting of the children. And because there is an emotionally reactive group of people who either have never been exposed to the facts and the truth about that shooting, about guns as a whole, or simply have simply ignored it if they have been exposed to it, or they’re simply useful happy bleating idiots—the puppets of the puppet master—speaking out against the elemental freedoms of the United States,” Molyneux said.

“The fact is that it was not fundamentally a gun that killed those kids in the school in Florida. What killed those kids was political correctness,” he said. “What killed those kids was political correctness.”

Lady Checkmate:
It's blasphemous. I won't support their business. What I find REALLY funny is how the report brags on the "popular company" having 114,000 followers as IF that's a lot for a business. Newsflash: some individuals have more than 114,000 followers. Large companies have millions of followers not a single one hundred thousand. Clear bias.

I figure Christians are fedup with the double-standard. The alt-left demands political-correctness and tolerance when dealing with their beliefs, issues, sins, etc., but when it comes to the beliefs of others they don't extend the same tolerance and pc. It's hypocritical AND why no one should take them seriously. I think those who were entertaining them are noticing the double-standards and pushing back now, which is awesome.

Note that there are far more women freebie seekers than man, and that the men are the ones who, for the most part, look like actual Native Americans.

But the fact that white women flock to this type of identity is partly due to the low quality of bottom 20% white men (the WN losers). They are the ones who drive white women into non-white identities.

It is positively associated with consumerism and mass surveillance. I guess it's better than being called racist though!

Lady Checkmate:
God help the children in Jesus name.
Homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt children. It is nothing but a sociological experiment to them AND all too often they do nothing but try to indoctrinate the children, rape them or pimp them out (pull up any pictures of their 'pride' parade). It's clear cut abuse. God is NOT pleased with it and it should be stopped. Heterosexuals wouldn't be allowed to get away with that abuse so why is there a double-standard?? Those women murdered those children because their experiment failed and they did not value those children. RIP kids. Those children did not deserve that.

Robin Egg:
Oh my......did they deliberately run off that cliff? What a horror story.

Lady Checkmate:
That was my take away, but I could have misunderstood. Please read the article and let me me know what you think. If I was wrong, I will repent.

Robin Egg:
This is so infuriating. How could those two women have adopted that many children! Outrageous! They were given preferential treatment because they are homosexuals. A normal family would die of old age before having the opportunity to adopt that many children. Three are missing.........this definitely sounds orchestrated. Either murder/suicide or murder........disappearing children. How awful.

To be a climate change skeptic has labeled us as ultra-conservative even if you are like myself, usually straddling the fence. I put that into a song back when Obummer was still king.

Science, Politics and Fear

Our President (Obama) just called me a denier,
He told his followers to put my “feet to the fire”!
Engaging in ridicule, spin and vicious mirth,
Proposing that “doubters live on a flat earth”.
Claiming that “To wind and solar power we must turn”-
Preaching that we’re doomed by all the fossil fuel we burn.

Refrain:
Science, politics and fear…
They tell us “hell on earth” will soon be here
So get out your ‘Humboldt County grown’ and I’ll go get some beer;
Here comes science, politics and fear.

While telling this, I wonder just how long it might be,
Before those “men in black” come sneaking ‘round to visit me.
While I accept the theory of that “greenhouse effect”,
The common sense my daddy taught me’s making me suspect…
There’s much more to climate change than carbon trapping infrared
And the people have by “new progressive science” been misled.

Refrain:
Science, politics and fear…
The end of all free nations could be near.
So, let’s protect the sovereignties we all hold dear
From science, politics and fear.

Instrumental verse & refrain

The panicked fight on climate is a challenge to surmise,
After decades now with just El Nino temperature rise.
Those models, they get further from reality each year
Yet, consensus of opinion of the future mongers fear!
But, I fear global governmental centralization:
U.N. bureaucrat controllers of a world enslaving nation.

Refrain:
Science, politics and fear…
Hey, ‘1984’ is almost here!
An unholy trinity’s replaced the Holy one, its clear-
Science, politics and fear!

NORMALLY, I wouldn't care.. If someone wants to plunk down capital and hire only left handed, transgendered, midgets.. I don't care.

BUT, since progressives have attacked Christian bakers, photographers, pizza shop owners, owners of hobby chains, etc, etc, etc, and basically waved their behinds in everyone faces for years now.. Now I do care.

I'm Austrian but also in other countries here in the "refugees welcome" countries like Germany and France we seem to be way more conservative and logical than the USA regarding these topics. Just a year ago i thought Amerika is the most sane country in the western world.
in Austria and Germany f.e. if you are gay and want a wedding cake from a christian baker, the baker has protection of deciding who he works for an who not. Common sense!
Same goes for Diversity quota and representation politics you have in Amerika. Over here we don't have any laws nor political nor media pressure that this and that much women should be in this and that position at a company, same goes for ethnic minorities. Our universities don't have "Affirmative Action" because it would be considered racist to have that, you need to be succesful and hard-working to get somewhere in life, no matter your ethnic background.
Now before i get "Yeah well, you Germans/Austrians have this and that ridiculous law!" - Yes we do! We have countless of silly laws, especially when it comes to migration and the lack of freedom of speech!
But i'm glad we don't have our silly laws AND these american "affirmative action" and other super PC laws. I hope Amerika gets better and rid of these things!
