Textbooks should show more people with no eyes or one eye – why do they all assume people have two eyes? Kids with glasses get teased and called “four eyes.” Our national anthem is an insult – no, I can’t “see by the dawn’s early light” – until I fumble around and find my glasses. I spent a month protesting 20/20-vision-normativity by not wearing my glasses. After a couple car accidents, my wife made me put them on again. People with good vision don’t have to spend thousands of dollars over their lifetime for glasses, contacts, prosthetic eyes, LASIK, cataract surgery, seeing-eye dogs or learning braille. It’s just not fair.

As another poster, I would go furthur and say the divorced woman or single, promiscuous woman should get nothing. Her life as a single mother should be hard. So hard, that other people see her as an object lesson for why children without a father is foolish and very undesirable. Every time we subsidize a single parent, we show other people that single parent-hood isn’t all that bad, what with all the help you will get. Yes, the reality may be that even with government assistance, it is difficult. But other people have their perception of reality, not reality itself.
I think it is better to do what will prevent 10 new children being created for life in a deficient home than help the 1 child already there. I agree that is hard, but I do not have limitless resources.

Widows and orphans are a different case; in those cases there was a father, and he was removed by death, not selfishness.

Very distrustful view… and I regret to say it, but one that seems partly true, at least financially. It is interesting to me that when God set up the economic system in Israel (about 1500 B.C.), women were not permitted to inherit the family land/farm, except in the case where there were 0 sons. ALL property of the father went to his sons. If he has 1 son and 10 daughters, the 1 son gets everything. And no, the farm was not divided if his marriage ended. Farm goes to sons, ex-wife gets… well, as far as I can tell, zilch. Which brings the point that, in order to continue to receive the benefits of marriage (home, food, clothing), the female had to remain a wife. Thus, a man did not have to trust his wife to not divorce him — she had the financial, daily motivation to remain with him.

But don’t expect agreement if you ask a church woman today to agree to a pre-nup, even when it is stated that this is to strengthen the marriage bond and conform to the Bible she claims to follow.

Oh, I will slap him around a bit for some of the social truth claims he makes based entirely on conjecture. But I won't argue with him regarding the existence of God the Creator. To do so, to present evidences for the existence of God is, on some level, to assert that God needs to be proven. It is to give legitimacy to the blasphemous notion that God can be put on trial--that convicted criminals (sinners) have the right to cross examine the Judge.

I believe to entertain and engage unbelievers on this level not only fuels and encourages the unbelievers' sinfulness, but it is also a blasphemous exchange on the part of God's proponent. That's right. To allow an unbeliever to put God on trial by participating in such a kangaroo court, even as a well-intentioned and loving defense attorney, is to participate in the unbeliever's blasphemy. And by aiding and abetting such blasphemy, the Christian takes part in the blasphemy and is, therefore, guilty of the same.

In God's Courtroom there is no right against self-incrimination. There is no protection of presumed innocence. There is no right to present an affirmative defense. There is no legal right to object to the Judge's findings and rulings. There can be no motion to have the Judge recuse Himself from the case. In fact, in God's Courtroom there are no trials. There are only days of sentencing.

Seriously. By choosing to become a lawyer, a woman is effectively reducing her husband prospects by 80% or more…

2) Being a lawyer engenders women with personality traits that men find repulsive (even though a male lawyer clearly does become attractive to women).
3) Being a lawyer uses up a woman’s 20s, so her peak years are gone before she knows it.

When He told the Isrealites to conquer a city and spare no one did He say except the children? The same fate awaits the children of the tribulation hour. Imagine a Heaven where millions or billions of children's spirits are present that hate God and His ways. What kind of Paradise would that be?
