I am thinking outloud here and would like ya'lls input. The rapid gay marraige and abortion rights- this sort of thing would wipe out mankind as we know it. Is all this happening because Satan knows that we are the blessed generation and does not want any more children to be born? I mean Satan tried to stop babies when Jesus was to be born through herod. Herod wanted all male children killed. Is Satan afraid of new children in this generation?

TEXARKANA, Ark. – Jurors began deliberating Thursday in the federal sex-crimes case against an evangelist accused of taking underage girls across state lines for sex.

The charges against 74-year-old Tony Alamo could land him in jail for the rest of his life if he's convicted.

The jury began deliberating early Thursday at Texarkana federal courthouse, a day after listening to prosecutors and defense attorneys offer their final portrayals of Alamo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyra Jenner described Alamo as a manipulator who dictated everything from what his followers believed to what they could eat. At one point, she turned to stare directly at him.

"Your crimes have been exposed in this courtroom," Jenner said. Alamo sneered and waved her away.

Alamo fell asleep several times during Jenner's closing argument. At one point, his mouth hung wide open as his head rolled back in his chair. A member of his legal team woke him by throwing a pen onto the defense table. When he was awake, Alamo muttered "bull----" at times during Jenner's remarks.

Defense lawyer Phillip Kuhn told jurors not to be swayed by testimony unrelated to the indictment — that Alamo may have had multiple wives, or that he may have set up businesses to evade taxes. He said prosecutors deliberately strayed from the specific charges against Alamo.

"Was it to give Tony a fair trial or was it to turn the jury into a moral mob?" Kuhn asked.

Alamo is accused of taking five young girls across state lines for sex between 1994 and 1995 after "marrying" them. Defense lawyers say prosecutors targeted him because the government is anti-Christian. Alamo has also said the Vatican is behind his troubles.

Defense attorneys largely stayed away from challenging the accusers' testimony about sex with the evangelist. Alamo's lawyers rested their case Wednesday after persuading the flamboyant minister not to testify. Though he had told reporters he would take the stand, Alamo said Wednesday afternoon he chose not to testify in an "unjust court."

Alamo is charged with violating the Mann Act, a nearly century-old morality law. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

[On Iranians]

Every since I was in the eighth grade and the Iranians held the people hostage during Carter's Administration, I have seen nothing of them on news stories except "Death to Americans", "America is the great Satan", "Israel will be wiped of the map" etc. These muslims extremists cannot be converted so they will always have a vengeful attitude towards America today, tomorrow, the day after that and the day after that. When Christian Missionaries try and spread the gospels to these people they wind up getting beheaded. They will never have any Positive influence in our society at all. If a military action is forth coming, It might be a blessing to try and exterminate this pestilence once and for all. I am not a war monger, just think the situation has gone on long enough and if not dealt with fast and effectively will only progress into something much worse. If you don't believe me ask Charlie Daniels. He will tell you the same thing.

I do not believe that atheists want proof before believing. They have all the proof they need, and are just rejecting God.

Something has to exist before it can be denied.

Thus the atheist has already heard about God, or he would be ignorant rather than in denial.

Last Thursdayism is false because I clearly remember events from before Last Thursday. It does not follow that God could have fixed our minds and experiences to make us think we only felt things before last Thursday. For example I have a note with the date on it, "Wednesday, July 15, 2009." This would not be possible if the world was created on "Thursday July 16, 2009."

[Minister's son believes it should be illegal to post the Ten Commandments in government buildings.]

Run him out of town. Have businesses refuse to do business with him. People have to start standing up to these people. He needs to learn the law, because posting them is not illegal. Then again, our ideas and beliefs are outdated. When we let the few push us around, we get what we don't stand up for. That's why we are where we are in this country today.

[Re: God "Testing" Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his son Isaac]

Because Abraham had free will just like the rest of God’s children. So God tested his faith, to see if he would truly put the Lord’s will before everything earthly.

It is not cruel, because God loves all of his children, and even if Isaac had died he would have just gone up to live with God in heaven. In fact, it’s almost like teasing Isaac, because he almost got an express ticket to the pearly gates.

(how atheists will react to the rapture)

The Bible tell us that God will send them strong delusion.

Some speculate that this could be an encounter with UFOs. Others have said that the New Agers have called for "assigning the christians to another dimension" so the New Age can be ushered in.

But whatever the delusion, many will listen and say, ahhhh, o.k., now I see what happened, and then go about their business.

My theory, is that the non believers, who have been unable to prove physical evolution, will say that there has been a quantum leap in spiritual evolution and the undesirables and weakest links have been removed and they are left on the planet as the superior of the species.

Just got back with the wife and kids from Disneyworld for a summer vacation. I put out enough gospel tracts around that whole place that they could arrest me for littering...lol. I never realized the opportunity to put those tracts out until this trip. There are literally thousands of people from all over the world in those parks and I pray that someone read one of those tracts and got saved. I put them in park bathrooms, in hotels, in lobbies, even on the rides as I got up from my seat. The maid will find one in the ice bucket in our room when she cleans it. I also put them inside the handles of gas pumps after I fill up my car. The next guy in line behind me has to grab the tract to get the pump handle.

Pray that someone will be saved. Just wanted to share that. God bless.

Are you saying that you would be defending the practice of stoning if God wasn't ok with it? Would you say that a man should be stoned for something as petty cursing Zeus?)

SoM,
To cut to the chase I'm saying that I wouldn't care about stoning at all if I were not a Christian. I'm a Christian, therefore I'm not my old self(who would be playing video games, drinking vault, and eating pizza right now). Stoning matters to me because I want to understand God, and God has an opinion on stoning.

I think that a man should get whatever God judges he should get.

As for scientific jargon, I don't dispute the use of it but dispute the use of it in relation to really bad science. Macro-Evolution is really bad science in my opinion. Who cares if some or majority of Christians accept Macro-evolution, thats their endeavour not mine, they can believe as they wish but in my view it's either God did it or a process too proposterous to even begin to occur. It's about worldviews, you've been given a choice to believe eiher, you've made your choice but you're wrong. You're all to bloody blinded by the lies as for us IDers we're set free by the truth. *obama: I want this done NOW!*

Anybody else see a problem here? This is what he is saying to congress. Last I checked there are three, co-equal branches of government.

I know he has little regard for the constitution but someone should at least remind him that the congress is not supposed to be his lap dog, and they should not be ordered around. If congress had a backbone they would say they are all for his plan, but push back and not be expected to take orders.

Can anyone imagine how apoplectic the media would have been if GW had said such a thing? Congress, the alphabet soup news agencies, the daily kook, airhead aremica, huffington post, etc. etc. They would have been screaming from the rooftop about GW is hitler, and dictator, yada, yada. But when lord obama says it, not a whimper.

Here are the people that need to hear from us. As far as the House is concerned these people are all that stand in the way of us and the first hurdle of obamacare.

This is the death of our republic unfolding before our eyes. Welcome to obamaland 2009

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — An Islamic court in Malaysia has sentenced a Muslim woman to be flogged with a rattan cane for having a beer in a nightclub, a court official said Tuesday.

It is rare for a woman in Malaysia to be sentenced to caning — a punishment usually reserved for men in various crimes ranging from rape to bribery.

Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno was sentenced Monday to six lashes and a fine of 5,000 ringgit ($1,400) for consuming alcohol, said a Shariah High Court official who declined to be identified because he was not authorized to make public statements.

Shukarno, a 32-year-old model, pleaded guilty in the court in eastern Pahang state to a charge of drinking beer when Islamic authorities raided a hotel nightclub in August 2008.

Two couples fatally shot while camping in different countries more than 30 years apart may have been victims of the same man: a drifter who authorities say was a religious zealot and disapproved of relationships between unmarried couples.

Joseph Henry Burgess, who died in a shootout with New Mexico sheriff's deputies last week, had been wanted in Canada as a suspect in the murders of two university students who were fatally shot on a Vancouver Island beach June 21, 1972.

Investigators in Sonoma County, Calif., also wanted to talk to him. The fatal shootings of two camp counsellors whose bodies were found on a Jenner beach Aug. 18, 2004, bore a striking resemblance to the crime up north.

Little is known about Burgess, but authorities say the New Jersey native moved in the 1960s to Canada to avoid the draft. During his time there, he lived in a religious commune and called himself Job, in reference to the biblical figure, said Dan Creally, a retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer who helped investigate the 1972 slayings.

Ann Durrant, 20, and Lief Karlsson, 21, were shot multiple times in the head at point blank range in their sleeping bag on Vancouver Island, according to Canadian police.

Creally said a woman on the beach told authorities that she had seen Burgess cleaning a .22 calibre rifle - the same type of weapon used in the killings - and said Burgess had told her he disapproved of Durrant and Karlsson's relationship because they were unmarried.

A police dog discovered Burgess' belongings, including his identification card and passages from the Bible he had written out, ripped up and discarded near the scene of the murders, Creally said. His fingerprint was also at the scene.

A fight over books depicting sex and homosexuality has riled up a small Wisconsin city, cost some library board members their positions and prompted a call for a public book burning.

The battle has stirred much of West Bend, a city of roughly 30,000 people about 35 miles north of Milwaukee. Residents have sparred for months on blogs, airwaves and at meetings, including one where a man told the city's library director he should be tarred and feathered.

The row even spread to this year's Fourth of July parade, which included a float featuring a washing machine and a sign that read "keep our library clean."

...Outside West Bend, the fight caught the attention of Robert Braun, who, with three other Milwaukee-area men, filed a claim against West Bend calling for one of the library's books to be publicly burned, along with financial damages.

The four plaintiffs -- who describe themselves as "elderly" in their complaint --- claim their "mental and emotional well-being was damaged by [the] book at the library."

[various quotes from one thread]

[yes, had I continued with the pregnancy, I would not have lived]

I scanned many of your earlier posts and I can offer sympathy for your many troubles and your confusion, nonetheless whether one doctor or 100 doctors said that (in their opinion) you would die during the pregnancy, they offered their OPINION. You chose to decide life/death in place of allowing God to act in that regard. Your CHOICE was to kill your child and "save" yourself. You acted in the place of God's action. That's the entire story. I hope you are able to return to faithfulness to the teaching of the Church ASAP.

-----------------------------------------------

[It´s much the same issues as when there´s a fallopian tube pregnancy - the same arguements emerge. The fetus doesn´t have any possible chance at life, and is endangering the mother´s life by continuing the pregnancy, certain death if the pregnancy advances far.]

Many differences in place - and still abortion is NOT allowed. Get back to me when you've become a moral theologian.

Would you say that it's better for one martyr to to die when two were called to die?

Deep down, every modern progressive completely agrees with [Margaret] Sanger. She was the link between Darwin and Hitler. But since eugenics got a bad name after the Nazis, our modern-day progressives have had to peddle the many faces of eugenics with terms like 'liberating' birth control, abortion 'rights', 'merciful' euthanasia, etc, so as not to reveal their true eugenic goals. Yes, eugenics is still espoused, but in euphemisms like 'planned parenthood', that sound wonderfully benign and compassionate.

Gotta save the world from the social ills of poverty, disease, mental infirmity, low IQs... so they'll eliminate hordes of 'unfit', 'unwanted' and irrelevant lives to achieve the goal of heaven on earth. No danger there -- progress at its best.
