Given SAPPRFT’s past history of introducing arbitrary policies without giving any explanation, it’s highly unlikely that it will reveal the real intentions behind the man earring ban. Theories trying to decipher the authorities’ motives abound on the Chinese internet. Some people speculate that SAPPRFT considers man earrings an affront to national masculinity, which stands at the core of the regressive gender culture in China, where men are expected to manifest manhood in every aspect of their lives, including how they dress themselves. Others think the root of the problem is SAPPRFT’s antiquated taste in men’s fashion.

I was also met with criticism for doing this, despite the fact that ultimately it is my responsibility to manage my social profiles and pages.

This criticism has even gone so far as to label my response as “censorship”. So I want to use this quick post to address this issue, and ask the question, is Theology Review censoring people.

Is Theology Review Censoring People?
The answer to this is a resounding no. But let’s look at this a little more shall we?

On a practical level, the comments that anyone makes on a social media site is the responsibility of those that manage it. So in terms of my social media sites, it is ultimately myself who bears that responsibility. With this being the case it is up to me to judge whether comments and content are appropriate for the world to see.

This week a comments thread got out of hand with the majority of people, including myself, talking in a manner that was not fruitful, nor appropriate. This is exactly why I made the announcement on Thursday that any posts related to TR material would now be filtered through the comments policy that we use here on the website.

As was expected, this made those harsh commenters (and their supporters) a little bit mad. This was always going to be the case. As I knew that as soon as I made that decision, I was going to get complaints from people saying things such as “well I didn’t breach those terms”. In reality, it is me as the lead for TR to determine whether anybody (including myself) has breached those terms.

But the question here is, is Theology Review censoring people.

As stated earlier on, the answer to this is no. All too often in the 21st century, we will throw words around without thinking about what they actually mean. Censorship at its core is about silencing anything that does not conform to what’s expected, or should I say, what is desired to be expected.

In terms of the decision to start using the comments policy to gauge whether comments should be allowed on social media posts. It is certainly far from being about not allowing comments I don’t agree with. It is all about not allowing comments that will not lead to a healthy and fruitful discussion that reflects Christ. This will also go for my own comments as well as anybody else’s.

So no, Theology Review is not censoring anybody. What we are doing is putting needed principles in place to ensure that discussions can be a blessing and not a problem.

God hates the traditional Hawaiian dance called the “hula,” because it is sexually promiscuous, filthy and causes lasciviousness (immoral sexual desire). Daryl Hall of the 1980's pop band, HALL AND OATES, has a new musical show called “LIVE FROM DARYL'S HOUSE.” Daryl Hall produces the show himself. On a recent episode featuring Todd Rundgren, Daryl and his friends visited the northernmost island of Kauai, Hawaii. There were about 40-50 people in the video, mostly men, gathered together for a barbeque luau.

Daryl and his friends sing the song, “I don't wanna work, I just want to bang on the drum all day.” During the entire song the camera zooms in on a slutty whore in a miniskirt sinfully gyrating the hula. It is shameful for any woman to dance erotically, immodestly dressed, for men and women to lust upon her beauty. The woman danced sensually and the camera didn't miss a swerve of her sinful behavior. The world doesn't care about what God thinks. People hypocritically claim to love God while living in wickedness, sharply criticizing any God-fearing Christian like me who dares to speak the truth of God's Word. Where are all the Christian believers? Why aren't more Christians speaking out against the whorish behavior, immodest clothing and promiscuity surrounding us on society today. America has deteriorated into a cesspool of iniquity, a morally rotten and toxic society of sleaze.

Granted, anyone who doesn't want to lust is either a homosexual or needs to go see a doctor because there is something wrong with them. Albeit, lust is a sin. The Bible teaches in 1st John 5:19 that the world has always been a wicked place. Lust is a work of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). Colossians 3:5-6, “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.” Sexual immorality, which all starts with immodest apparel and lust, provokes God's wrath. Rock 'N' Roll is 99% sex, which has ruined our youth in America.

Rock music is virtually synonymous with drugs and alcohol abuse. As a consequence of Rock music, and now the sleazy and shamefully lewd Country music industry, our youth are perverted beyond belief. Today's youth have no moral compass, because we've banned the Bible from our nation's classrooms sin 1963. The sexual liberation of the 1960's brought legalized abortion in 1972, to do away with the millions of unwanted pregnancies and unloved children in millions of fornicator's wombs! Woe unto America!
