A group of Catholic bishops in Saskatchewan recently sent out a letter to Catholic school boards and parents targeting the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine and warning about its “moral implications.”

The Archdiocese of Regina said Monday that schools can’t enforce a “compulsory vaccination program for students” and that parents have “the final say” in the matter. The group encouraged parents to reject the vaccine, which prevents certain types of cancer in boys and girls, for religious reasons.

“First, in accord with the moral teaching of the Church, it is important that young people be encouraged to avoid any kind of promiscuous behavior that, along with other negative effects, also can put them in danger of cervical cancer. Scientific evidence supports the ethical stance that responsible sexual behavior, abstinence until marriage and then a faithful, monogamous union are the surest way to good health.”

How dare they bring science into this discussion. Especially in the same breath as “abstinence until marriage,” considering that scientific studies have shown definitively how teaching abstinence instead of more comprehensive sex education actually hurts kids.

The bishops acknowledged that the vaccine prevents 70% of the HPV that can cause cervical cancer… but argued that that was a bad thing. They warned parents of a “false sense of security” that can contribute to “risky behavior.”

“This is especially important since other viral infections and sexually transmitted diseases are unaffected by the vaccine. When making moral decisions, practical considerations play an important role. In this case, parents need to weigh both the potential benefit that comes from the reduction of one’s chances of contracting an HPV infection that could lead to cervical cancer and the potential harm that could come both from risk compensation and from undermining a healthy sense of sexuality if young people perceive that they are being given ‘mixed messages.’”

In case you weren’t following that, the group is actually saying the HPV vaccine should be avoided because it works too well… which will encourage young children to have more sex. It makes as much sense as saying students shouldn’t be told to wear seat belts because it might encourage them to drive more recklessly.
The bishops went on to contradict that sentiment, though, by undermining the evidence in favor of the vaccine. The group said the scientific support for it “is at an early stage” and the “long term effects are unknown.” (Would they support it if the research was more clear?)

This research has been accepted for years, so why are the bishops lying? It turns out they’ve been sending out this exact same letter during vaccine season every year since at least 2008. The only difference now is that the vaccine is now being offered to girls and boys.

This error was brought to the attention of at least one of the bishops, who admitted that sending it without updates was “a mistake.” Unfortunately, the damage may have already been done, according to Canadian Cancer Society’s Donna Pasiechnik.

“Parents might read this and think ‘Oh my goodness, I don’t want to [do] this’,” Pasiechnik said.

“Statements in the letter were not based on evidence or facts, so we are concerned some parents may just take that at face value and not want to vaccinate.”

The trailer, which was debuted yesterday, features a character that is “doing the job the police don’t want to” and “cleaning up the streets one illegal at a time.” The series promises “storylines, not social justice” and revolves around a collection of superhuman heroes that defy a United Nations “Superhuman Protection Council” and act as vigilante crime fighters who apparently use their rogue status to target undocumented immigrants and left-wing protesters.

As Beale describes it:

"What I found the most interesting was the idea that anything short of an undefined “success”, which as we all know will be redefined and re-redefined as Alt??Hero meets with the usual metrics of success over time, is tantamount to “sad humilation”. Think about how twisted one’s psyche has to be to make that connection, and what a crushing fear of failure one would have to have in order to think that way.

Despite making progress on other fronts in my life currently, this phenomena is still irritating me.

Why do people constantly cough around me?

For a time I believed many to be reading my thoughts and began to think that maybe the two phenomena were part of the same thing.

I'm sure I would be "over it" if it was something that only happened occasionally and in a seemingly "random" context, then I would have no issue rationalizing it away and getting on with things.

Some causes I have entertained include:

-Those coughing are part of some sort of hivemind that have the abilities to read my thoughts and cough as a form of intimidation

-I have a higher energy level than most people, so I'm basically "cleaning" the energetic bodies of people by being close to them so they "cough" etc

-Many of those coughing are intimidated by my presence for whatever reason, so they cough as a means of trying to establish dominance

I'm just trying to make sense of it because it is so annoying and feels like people are taking non-verbal sleights at me

And no, this isn't the "normal" type of cough. There is a subtle violence in it.

I have noticed that when I'm around certain people for extended periods in public that either my body starts to get this weird dis-associative feeling and/or my eyebrow area begins to throb or just has a very particular "heavy" sensation about it. Shortly after removing myself from their presence I often feel down or sad for no reason, it feels like my body is trying to recover from being drained- I will often feel tired. It often feels like my brain is being sucked out of my skull.

I know how sexist some of the posts made on this board are. That said, it appears that women do this energy draining far more often than men do. I can tell just when they're doing it around me because their energy is very sticky and direct. They often begin to drain just by looking into your eyes and stealing energy that way. I've found that flirting isn't really a thing, they're just trying to hypnotize and establish a subtle control.

I can tell that they're draining me purposefully, because as soon as I radically shift my thoughts or my body, they also radically shift accordingly.

It's like many of them are eavesdropping on my thoughts the way they react to my thinking. Sometimes I think abrasive things just to see if they react and they almost always do.

The Afghan war, on the other hand, has been running for sixteen years, and the Afghan government, despite being supposedly democratically elected, is so corrupt and bitterly unpopular that it would collapse overnight without constant violent American support. And this simply shows no sign of changing. Even if we fight a lot more effectively, thanks to delawyering the war, there is still a power vacuum in Afghanistan waiting for the Taliban.

The problem in Afghanistan is not winning the war. We won the war overnight immediately after invading. The problem is, what do you do with victory?

The problem is not that the US army in Afghanistan is infested with State Department agents making marines wear high heeled shoes. The problem is that the government in Afghanistan is infested with State Department agents making schoolgirls put a condom on a banana, who are trying in an ineffectual limp wristed fashion to impose the American state religion in an environment where a hostile and armed opposing religion has deep roots. Further, every Afghan who matters can see that victory for the State Department religion would mean that he probably will not get his dick wet. Communism in Grenada had no roots except the permanent government and the quasi statal NGOs. Purge the permanent government and the NGOs, problem solved. Mohammedanism in Afghanistan has considerably deeper roots.

You need to bring a gun to a gun fight, and a religion to a holy war. The State Department has brought a religion to a holy war, but the problem is that their religion stinks.

How do you win in Afghanistan?

You install a King whose religious practices and official state religion are acceptable to the vast majority of his subjects, which is to say, totally unacceptable to the State Department. You install a conservative Mohammedan King, one who does not think that Mohammedanism, rightly understood, is progressivism. You install a King with a striking resemblance to Dost Mohammad Khan.

The cause of these wars is that the State Department is violating the peace of Westphalia, by imposing our state religion on the entire world.

As strange as it is to be threatened with a very small corpse, I understand that comic book fans enjoy this sort of theoretical matchup. So, just to be clear, this is Jack Kirby in his physical prime, with his wife, Roz. This is another picture of Kirby. This is me, with Spacebunny. Another picture of me. Yes, both pictures were a long time ago, but nevertheless, I am confident that I have maintained myself in rather better condition than Mr. Kirby has.

Jack Kirby's tough guy story: Once, while Jack was in the Timely office, a call came from someone in the lobby. When Kirby answered, the caller threatened Jack with bodily harm if he showed his face. Kirby told the caller he would be right down, but by the time Jack reached street level, there was no one to be found.

Vox Day's tough guy story: In his second public ringfight, his opponent, a Tae Kwan Do practitioner, broke Vox's nose in the initial exchange. Vox didn't notice it until his sensei called time out to stop the bleeding. After the time out, Vox caught his opponent coming in with a sidekick that doubled him over, and proceeded to throw alternating hooks to both sides of the defenseless man's head until the referee stopped the fight in the first round and declared Vox the winner. After the fight, Vox went to the hospital to get his nose straightened out. Mostly.

For what it's worth. Anyhow, what explains this weird elevation of Jack Kirby to demigod status by the Comic SJWs? The answer, as it turns out, is that they believe him to have been their much-revered forefather who blazed the social justice trail they so bravely tread today.

Hello Wakalix. A creator is necessary because there is no other way that the universe can possibly exist. Think about it, the universe is so vast and creation is so unbelievable that there HAS to be a creator somehow. As an atheist I didn't believe it either like you don't but, it's the truth.

What evidence is there that scripture can be taken as a science text book? You mean besides faith? Well for one the Bible has predicted things since before Christ came to the earth. Like I said, it proved the world was round before Christopher Columbus proved it. It also proved in Genesis 3:15 that both men and women possess the seed of life (Sperm and the Egg). This wasn't discovered by science until the 17th century. These are just some of the things the Bible has proven.

Falun Dafa has benefited many people in our community. Here are but four brief examples:

My husband had a heart attack, leaving him unconscious one morning in December 1996. The doctor said he had many illnesses, the most serious being cerebrovascular insufficiency (a condition that results in obstruction of one or more arteries that supply blood to the brain). The doctor told my husband his life was in danger and suggested that he quit working and stay home to rest.

I had a friend who practiced Falun Dafa. She came to visit my husband and brought the book Zhuan Falun. It is the main book in the practice of Falun Dafa. She told him, “Dafa can save you. Follow the teachings and do the exercises, and you can regain your health.” My husband read the book and learned the exercises. His health improved, and within a couple of months, he was able to walk to the stores, tend the farmland, and herd the sheep.

He biked to the wheat field during the summer harvest season in 1998. As he crossed the intersection, a tractor knocked him to the ground and one of its wheels rolled over his ankle. The driver of the tractor offered to take my husband to the hospital. My husband moved his ankle and said, “I'm okay, my skin is just scratched.” Bystanders were amazed and happy for my husband. After seeing Falun Dafa's incredible effect on my husband, many people in my village who suffered from illnesses came to learn the practice.

My son fell off the roof of our house after having had a few drinks in the spring of 2013. I was in the house when I heard him fall. I found him unconscious. I held him while I repeated “Falun Dafa is good!” My son woke up soon afterward. He recuperated over the next 20 days and was able to do some chores. Less than two months later he found part-time work harvesting wheat. He is not a practitioner, but wonderful things do happen when one believes that Falun Dafa is good!

My sister was working inside a shed with five other women in 2013. They were counting tomatoes while people outside were burning corn stalks. A strong wind came and spread the flames to the curtain hanging at the shed window. The shed quickly filled with fire and smoke. The women could not find the exit and were having trouble breathing. My sister remembered what I told her to say whenever she was in trouble. She told everyone to yell, “Falun Dafa is good!” A puff of wind cleared a path so that they could see the door. They ran out of the shed, it collapsed and burned to the ground. Many in the neighborhood believe that it was Falun Dafa had saved the lives of those women.

A 70-year-old lady in my village could not walk because of the pain in her legs. She began to practice Falun Dafa in 1998, hoping to be healed. The pain was gone a few months later. She quit the practice when the persecution began. An abscess appeared on her leg. She went to a doctor to have it removed. The abscess kept returning and the sore festered and turned black.

The doctor said she had inflammation within blood vessels and advised her to have the leg amputated. A Falun Dafa practitioner suggested she return to Falun Dafa practice. The woman agreed. She resumed the practice, and stopped taking medication and seeking other treatments. Her husband was upset with her. He scolded and beat her for not seeking medical treatment. However he told her, “If you get well from the practice, I will practice too.”

The woman is in perfect health now, and her husband has begun to read Zhuan Falun. Her family is grateful to Dafa and Master Li (the founder and teacher of Falun Dafa).

Another practitioner and I planned to see the Shen Yun performance at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Connecticut. However, when I checked the weather forecast on Friday, it said that there was a 50% chance of snow between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. I thought that the weather might discourage many people from attending the show.

Since I was off work that Friday, I decided to send righteous thoughts every hour on the hour. I saw through my celestial eye a green bead in the sky above the theater, which made me think that we should go to the theater before the show and send righteous thoughts.

I also saw snow on the way to Connecticut and Faluns. Above the theater, I saw the last name of the practitioner I was going to see the show with, along with a Falun. I immediately called the practitioner and said, “Our mission tomorrow is to clean up the evil that is attempting to keep people from going to the show. We must protect and help them to attend the show.”

I also said that I could only eliminate evil elements from the dimensions designated to me, and I could not do the same in others' dimensions. We agreed to send righteous thoughts at the top of every hour to clear up the weather for the following day.

When I woke up at 4:00 a.m., the weather forecast had not changed. I decided to meditate and clear up the weather later.

My celestial eye showed me that Master was surrounded by a big fire. I felt very sad to see Master suffering for us. A week prior, I saw that Master was hit by the evil’s “nuclear bomb.” Although Master blocked the scene with a white matter, I still saw that he was bleeding.

I was shocked to see Master’s horrific wound. After I finished meditating, the weather forecast improved. Light snow was predicted between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.. I began to cry, knowing that Master suffered burns so people could attend the Shun Yun show. I knew that what I had seen was just the tip of the iceberg.

We left for Connecticut at 10:00 a.m.. We did not encounter snow or rain on the road, despite the forecast of snow for New York. Entering Connecticut, the weather got even better. It remained sunny until the show ended at 4:30 p.m. After we got back to New York after 6:00 p.m., there was a light drizzle.

The show was a huge success, and the theater was packed. I was so happy for the audience members. They had no idea how much Master suffered in order to save them. My heart was crying for Master’s boundless compassion. I also felt ashamed that we did not do our job well and let Master down.

I got a message from a practitioner at 10:00 p.m. on March 24, 2017. Mexico City had a power outage one hour before the Shen Yun show was to begin. I immediately began sending righteous thoughts. I knew Master would not allow the old forces to commit such a crime. I was fully confident that the interference would be cleared soon. Shortly afterward, I got another message that the power had been restored.

Although I can only see a few things, every time I see Master suffering for people, I am shocked and deeply touched. I also feel extremely fortunate to be able to help Master in saving people. I have no idea how much longer I can continue to do this. I do not even dare to think about that. I can never do enough to deserve Master’s compassion.

I have been practicing Falun Dafa since 1997. Before I began to practice, I had many health problems, including chronic fatigue, stomach pain, and back pain.

I also had emotional problems. I took medication for many years but was never cured. A month after I began practicing Falun Dafa, all my illnesses disappeared.

The following is one of my experiences that demonstrates the power of Dafa.

Mr. Liu is a TV repairman. He had a shop near my son's place of employment. Mr. Liu's son became very ill in 2011, when he was just nine years old. He was hospitalized for three months.

The child was diagnosed with lymphoma. The tumor was located near his heart, so surgery was not an option. The boy had to have chemotherapy for 30 months, according to the doctors, and it would be very costly.

To pay for the treatment, Mr. Liu was planning to sell his house and car. He asked the doctor if this would cure his son. The doctor said there was no guarantee.

Three months of chemotherapy left his child semi-conscious, unable to speak, walk, or eat. The doctor told his father that the boy did not respond to chemotherapy and there was nothing more they could do for him.

I went with another practitioner to visit the family when I heard about this. We brought with us the main book of Falun Dafa, Zhuan Falun. We talked to the father and told him about Falun Dafa.

I said “Your child is very sick. If you and your family truly believe in Dafa, a miracle can occur.”

He chose to believe in the goodness of Dafa and quit the Chinese Communist Party.

We asked the family to take turns reading Zhuan Falun to the boy for 24 hours straight. We also told them to frequently repeat, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” They all agreed and continued for 20 days, at which time the boy woke up and had rice soup and half a bun.

Within three weeks, he could eat and talk. After another 20 days, he had gained six pounds, and, by the end, he was walking.

The child was taken to a well-known cancer center in Beijing just three months later. He had a full body CT scan, and not even a trace of the tumor was found, which confused the doctor, who asked many questions.

This boy is now a healthy junior high student.
