Show Seems to Push Darwinism / Evolution
Given that this is supposed to be a Christian TV show aimed at Christian kids, I was disturbed to see Darwinism / Evolution being subtly supported on the show, on at least one episode. While there are some Christian parents who subscribe to Theistic Evolution, there are still plenty of Christians who take the Genesis creation account in the Bible literally (meaning, we believe that God created earth and all its life forms in six days consisting of 24 hours each, and God did not use macro-evolution to do so). I was channel surfing and caught this 'Gina D Kid's Club' show where they were doing a cartoon sketch that mentioned dinosaurs. There was a song playing as the dinosaurs were shown, and the lyrics of the song mentioned that the dinosaurs were "millions of years old." As someone who is a Y.E.C. (Young Earth Creationist) Christian, I don't believe that dinosaurs are (or the earth is) "millions of years old." I found it a little disturbing that a Christian show aimed at kids would push the old-earth-age / Evolution view. As for the rest of the show, it seems harmless enough. However, as is true (sadly) with most Christian produced shows and movies, a bit sub-par. The special effects, animation and so on, are not as high quality as you'd expect to see from Hollywood or the major networks. You feel as though you're watching a second-class type show, one that was made on somewhat of a shoe-string budget. The lady host seems pleasant, but some of her human and puppet side kicks are either unoriginal, uninspiring, and/or annoying, especially the Australian character (played by a human actor in costume; he's not a puppet, and he speaks with an exaggerated Aussie accent).

I was a sickly child and had a severe blood disease. As an adult, I had a skin disease and hemorrhoids for over 10 years. My husband only cared about his work and never expressed concern for my health. He didn't come home on holidays and ignored our child's education. Gradually, grudges against him accumulated in my heart, and my health began to decline.

In 1995, my husband was unjustly accused of wrongdoing and lost his job. He only received 300 yuan per month, which caused a crisis in our family of seven people covering four generations.

I couldn't accept what happened and vowed to sue the corrupt officials who framed my husband.

During this period, my husband and I started to practice Falun Dafa. After I watched the video of Master's first lecture in Guangzhou, I didn't need reading glasses and all my illnesses disappeared—including an incurable one. My husband's liver disease was also gone. For both of us, resentments subsided, and we no longer wanted to sue others.

The persecution of Falun Gong officially began on July 20, 1999.

At 2 p.m. on July 21, 1999, a group of officers came to my home and took me to the police station. I was calm and brought two documents with me: one was a national survey on Falun Gong, and one was related to legal aspects concerning freedom of belief. I gave the two documents to the police.

One officer asked me to sign a subpoena. I asked, “What crime have I committed?” I was released around 10 p.m.

The next day at 8 a.m., I was again asked to go to the police station. One officer asked me how I practiced Falun Gong. I told him that I did the exercises and read the teachings every day. They then set six restrictions on me and let me go by 10 a.m.

In the afternoon, I went to a provincial government building to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong without being arrested.

On July 23, I was detained again. I didn't reply when interrogated and was held for a week. Every night, four officials from my workplace were forced to stay with me. However, I continued to do the exercises every day.

On the fifth day, I was asked for an interview by a TV station. I refused.

One official from my workplace told me that the interview would only last for a minute. I said: “I won't speak for even half a minute. I don't want to appear on TV no matter who asks me.”

That day, I saw Master's Fashen, many of them. At night, I saw Master sitting on the moon. I knew that he was encouraging me, and hinting for me to do well by getting through this trial.

I safely returned home from the police station and knew, in my heart, that Master was looking after me all the time.

A leg cramp caused me to fall and hurt my lower back back in July 2002. The pain was severe, making it impossible for me to sleep at night. For over two weeks, I had dysuria and constipation. But I didn't think about the symptoms and just kept doing what a practitioner should do: studying the Fa, doing the exercises and sending righteous thoughts.

I still went to rural areas with other practitioners to talk to people about Falun Dafa. After less than three weeks, everything was back to normal and I was healthy again.

At times, I was obsessed with ordinary matters and not diligent in cultivation. This created a loophole in my cultivation, and I believe led to a fall. In October 2002, I fell and injured my lower spine. I studied the Fa, sent righteous thoughts, and recited:

“When it is difficult to endure, try to endure it. When it looks impossible and is said to be impossible, give it a try and see if it is possible. ” (Lecture Nine in Zhuan Falun)

A month later, I was as good as before the fall.

This time I didn't ask other practitioners to help by sending righteous thoughts for me. I realized that I should deal with the injury myself because Master is looking after us. It is up to us to choose between human thoughts and divine thoughts. As long as we follow the Fa and behave as practitioners, the wonders of Dafa will manifest all around us

There is no trivial thing in cultivation. We should pay attention to cultivating solidly and be strict with ourselves.

A practitioner had a terrible dream that felt very real. He woke up horrified. “Please help record my dream,” he said, “to alert practitioners who are still making mistakes regarding the attachment of lust.” Below is his recollection.

In the dream, I was among a group of practitioners, but none of us knew each other. One of them said, “We will reach Consummation the day after tomorrow.”

After that, I saw that their complexions and bodies become very beautiful and young. I also carefully looked at my own feet and found that they were different from before. At this time, another dimension appeared. I saw a dark house that contained many practitioners, but they had not cultivated well. I also saw a very bright house in which people lived carefree, easy lives and had everything they wanted. The scenery was extremely beautiful and sacred. It appeared that everyone there had completed their cultivation.

However, I felt that I was not up to the standard for staying in that house, so I moved on to look for my place. I saw a crowd of practitioners all waiting for the Grand Judgment that would determine their destinations. Suddenly, from the sky descended a large metal plate with iron chains on both sides. I knew that everyone had to stand on this plate and await their destinations.

I saw a practitioner stand on the plate. The plate moved slowly and then tipped over, and he fell into a pond. There were three such ponds of equal size. One was for cultivators who had committed financial sins out of greed. The second was the pond of lust, which was filled with snakes, insects, and fire. A lot of practitioners fell into this pond, one after another. The third pond was full of black water, with the people inside wailing loudly.

It was my turn to get on the plate. The plate stopped over the pond of lust, and I fell into it. I panicked and did not want to live any longer. I felt a snake bite me and, I was in extreme agony. I could not die and had to experience that agony over and over again. I saw one practitioner after another fall in.

I woke up suddenly and was filled with a fear that I could not shake off. I knew that I did not cultivate well and had committed the sin of lust. I was filled with extreme regret!

I remembered that a practitioner and I talked about the attachment of lust some time ago. I had not realized that the issue was so serious. I started paying attention to it and began to study the Fa more and send righteous thoughts more often. My cultivation state improved.

However, I slacked off again recently. Master did not give up on me, so he used this dream to tell me of the horrific consequences if I cannot complete my cultivation.

There really is not much time left, so I've made up my mind to correct myself and cultivate away all attachments, especially the attachment of lust.

I've actually thought of this at length, how I would deal with counterrevolutionary elements after the Vanguard has achieved enough power to begin bringing about full postmodern consciousness. In the first phases, it would be fairly easy to deal with counterrevolutionary elements since there will be plenty of blatant counterrevolutionary paramilitaries still lurking around, they can be eliminated using a mix conventional and counterinsurgency methods. This would be the most straightforward, and perhaps the least morally grey phases of defending the Revolution. It would also be a time of asserting the Vanguard's legitimacy and willingness to defend its authority and defend the proletariat from counterrevolution.

However, as OP mentioned, there would still be plenty of counterrevolutionaries who hide it better, or choose, "Safer" means of opposition. Still, there are obviously factors that would make someone more likely to be a counterrevolutionary than others, such as being white, such as being or associating with former land owners, former law enforcement, former military of the old regime who chose not to fight with the proletariat. My personal policy is that the burden of proof will lay on them to show loyalty to the Vanguard and to the principles of the pursuit of the postmodern, or they will face purging, sentencing to labor camps, etc.

Yes, it is a very harsh policy, I acknowledge that, but it is beneficial in the end. Attempts at Revolution that were afraid to use violence have historically failed. It's either the loss of those who would harm others, or the loss of many more who are Revolutionaries, who could live to see postmodern consciousness emerge, who will birth the next generations who will experience even more victories and even more prosperity. It is important that no one have to live under the tyranny of bourgeoisie or reactionary influences.

I acknowledge that it would be difficult to truly root out every counterrevolutionary, but I have given thought to that as well. This is part of the reason why I advocate for totalitarianism to some extent when it comes to defending the Revolution and establishing postmodern consciousness. There is certainly a risk of the Vanguard becoming degenerated, but I of course have developed countermeasures against even that, which is a story for another time. Totalitarianism, like many things, is a tool, a means to and end.

Arguably, totalitarianism is a very risky means to an end, and a morally ambiguous one. However, totalitarianism would perhaps be the most effective way of prevent a counterrevolutionary Blanquist scenario from arising, a counterrevolutionary Deep State, if you will. Surveillance, social engineering, psychotronics, mental orthodoxy, etc. will be, obviously temporary measures to root out any remaining conspirators, hopefully. I would like to go more into detail, but I don't want to digress too far.

Education will be what eventually allows these Orwellian measures to truly be temporary, and that's a promise by the way, I have no intentions of locking the proletariat into a controlled environment for longer than is necessary. Education will be the main tool, education of all people in not only academic pursuits, but in the horrors of the times before. The rhetorical and mental destruction of all oppressive institutions and concepts from the next generations; education on the perils of whiteness, of sexism, of the gender binary, of the class system, etc.

The totalitarianism part would go hand in hand with this here, social engineering. People will be encouraged to race mix, to form their own nontraditional identities involving their gender, sexuality, and other aspects. In a few generations, there would no need for totalitarianism due to the complete deconstruction, and the arrival of the postmodern consciousness. New generations would further the cause of the Vanguard elsewhere.

In conclusion, that would be how I will deal with these quote on quote, "Peaceful rebels." Some may consider my methods deeply Orwellian, deeply Draconian, but I assert that they will no doubt still be effective. It is important that we consider the bigger picture, don't be someone who can't see the forest for the trees. Remember, there is a world to win, a grand cause that ascends any other consideration. Macomb County sheriffs picked up Stojcevski in 2014 after he failed to pay a $772 traffic ticket for careless driving. Stojcevski was placed in a jail cell and later a mental health cell, even though a nurse who evaluated Stojcevski suggested putting him in a drug detox unit.

Prior to his jail stint, Stojcevski was being treated for his drug addiction with methadone, Xanax, and Klonopin to stave off withdrawal symptoms, which can be deadly. Even a basic knowledge of these drugs and addiction suggests that suddenly yanking Stojcevski off of his medication would cause withdrawal — and that's exactly what happened when jail officials didn't give him the drugs.

Over 17 days, Stojcevski displayed typical withdrawal symptoms. He didn't eat, likely due to withdrawal-induced nausea. He shook and appeared to experience seizures. He seemed to hallucinate, reenacting a previous fight with an inmate. On his last two days, he laid on the floor, shaking and in clear distress.

During all this time, staffers rarely tended to Stojcevski's needs, even though his cell was under surveillance 24 hours a day. As he lay on the floor shaking and not eating his food over 48 hours, no one showed up to help until the very end. But it was too late — he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

So a former druggie gets caught for careless driving and dies from withdrawal in jail. It shouldn't have happened but it's kind of hard for me to care about someone who did the kind of illegal drugs that require methadone to come off of.

Oh yeah demonize addicts who can't help it since they've become addicted.

Their choice, these are the consequences. Anyone who believes drugs aren't addictive is a fool.

I knew a woman who was addicted to Crack after her brother forced her to use it.

So that must be true with every crack head am I right? And god forbid she call the cops on his ass and seeks medical help instead of following his habits.

We don't live in a country with an abundance of programs to help addicts. When they're caught they're thrown in jail.

No but we do have an abundance of programs that teach kids DON'T DO DRUGS! When you choose to do something you were taught as a child was bad it's really hard for me to feel sympathy for you.

No, read a few posts after that. I wouldn't make them die, I just don't feel sorry when they do. He shouldn't have died while in the care of the state.

there are multiple issues with “omg you MUST disclose your HIV status or you’re evil!” Number one, I actually can’t give HIV to a partner, because I have an undetectable viral load and high CD4s. Even without barrier protection, I am not a transmission risk. The medical community has been aware that antiretroviral treatment prevents transmission since 2008, but because of political concerns, HIV stigma, and homophobia, this fact has not been widely promoted in the public.

It also indicates a level of complacency on the part of the person saying it. Your sexual health is your responsibility as much as it is your partner’s, and the people who are high-risk for transmission are people unaware of their HIV infection, i.e. people who believe they are HIV-negative. In communities where HIV is a reality, the only responsible thing to do is to treat all potential partners as if they are HIV+ and unaware, rather than to take anyone at their word (get on PrEP!!!)

The reality is, it is SAFER to have sex with a partner who is aware of their HIV status and managing their infection than it is someone who belives they are negative (and how often is that person getting tested? Be honest, how often do YOU get tested?).

It also paints HIV+ people in an unfair, predatory light. Most sex is non-transmissible. Most HIV+ people are decent human beings (lurid exaggerated news stories aside). If an HIV+ person engages in oral sex (one of those non-transmissible sex acts) without disclosing, why does it matter? Why are the irrational, medically-inaccurate stigmatizing fears of HIV-negative people given overwhelming precedence over the well-being of poz people?

Do I think is is “ok” to withold your status, or to lie about it? Not really. It is not nearly as big a deal as it is made out to be, but honesty is still better than dishonesty. After all, you never know when a hook-up might turn into a relationship, and “so I know you thought I was negative when we met” is a messy, un-fun conversation.

The TERFs who insist that non-disclosure=rape are unaware of any of this, and they don’t care so they can burn, but that’s the long and short of it.
