Pokemon: What is it?

Pokemon, which is short for "pocket monster," has become a phenomenal success in America among children. There are cartoons and even a movie based upon the Pokemon characters. Almost every child in America is familiar with this fad and owns some form of Pokemon paraphernalia. But, what is Pokemon?

Pokemon was created by Nintendo in Japan in 1996. It is a role-playing game involving cards, Nintendo Game Boy, and TV cartoons. The cards have pictures of different Pokemon on them--more than 150 so far. The Pokemon are supposed to be "monsters" that have special powers and share the world with humans. The idea of the game is to have the children learn how to collect as many Pokemon as possible, train them, and use them against other people's Pokemon by invoking the various abilities of each Pokemon creature. Pokemon can evolve and pass through various levels--100 being the highest. Colored energy cards are sometimes used to aid the Pokemon.

There are four basic types of cards.

1. Basic Pokemon cards which depict creatures that fight for you against other people's Pokemon.
2. Evolution cards depict Pokemon that are able to evolve into more powerful creatures.
3. Energy cards are united with other cards to give the Pokemon more energy needed in carrying out the trainer's orders.
4. Trainer cards are cards used one time and then discarded.

There are different types or categories of Pokemon: Bug, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Dragon, Electric, Ghost, Grass, Ground, Ice, Normal, Poison, Psychic, Rock, and Water. Within each type are several different Pokemon, each possessing various abilities.

Within the game, evolution is taught repeatedly. There are special stones (Fire, Leaf, Moon, Thunder, and Water) that can be used to force some Pokemon to evolve into more powerful creatures. Of course, after normal development in skill learning, various Pokemon often evolve on their own.

Is Pokemon Dangerous?

Is Pokemon dangerous? Potentially, yes, it is. It conditions the child who plays the game into accepting occult and evolutionary principles. Haunter can hypnotize, eat a person's dreams, and drain their energy. Abra reads minds. Kadabra emits negative energy that harms others. Gastly induces sleep. Gengar laughs at peoples' fright. Nidoran uses poison. The Psychic type of Pokemon are among the strongest in the game. Charmander, Haunter, Ivysaur, Kadabra, and many more evolve. The children are taught to use these creatures to do their will by invoking colored energy cards, fights, and commands. Much of it is reminiscent of occult and eastern mysticism.

The Bible says to "Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it," (Prov. 22:6). 2 Chron. 33:6 says, "And he made his sons pass through the fire in the valley of Ben-hinnom; and he practiced witchcraft, used divination, practiced sorcery, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger."

I do not see how allowing children to play with games that encourage fighting, reading of minds, use of poison, mimicry, taunting, teleportation, hypnosis, and evolution can be a good thing. This is not training a child to righteousness. It is accepting the occult and secular evolution. Is this what we, as Christians, want our children to meditate on? Of course not.

If children are conditioned to accept these things in youth, then they will be more likely to accept these ideas in adulthood. This leads people away from God's Word and truth and not toward it. This is dangerous to a person's eternal destiny.

I have seen the comments in news articles frequently divulge into attacks on religion - mostly snarky, no real debate involved. Kids are very impressionable to this. And it's all over the place, not just classrooms or churches or other places where debate is appropriate. All you can really do is prepare them for it, teach them the issues behind it and encourage them to discern. Otherwise they may feel compelled to identify with "science," because someone convinced them that it was cooler, or more convincing, and that you can't believe both.

There are all sorts of propaganda techniques that can make kids feel like they have to "choose" science over faith. It might be a good idea to introduce your daughter to the different types of propaganda, so she can recognize them.

The video claims that the Cambrian Explosion “totally invalidates the theory of evolution.” The Cambrian Explosion was a time period, nearly 550 million years ago, where, over the next tens of millions of years, the number of species on Earth experienced a (relatively) rapid expansion by evolutionary standards. Christian creationists regularly point to this explosion of life as evidence for creation by God and against evolution.

Blink and you’d miss the Islamic connection in the video. A black screen flashes for less than one second that says “this film is based on the works of Harun Yahya.” In the right corner, there’s a gold bubble that says, “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah” in Arabic.
Anne Ross Solberg, an expert on Yahya, explained in a paper that while Oktar uses many of the same arguments as Christian creationists, and “undoubtedly takes inspiration from American-style creationism, Yahya’s creationism is far from just an American import” (PDF). He’s trying to prove that science backs up Islam.

Oktar has also hinted that he’s the Mahdi, a messianic figure in Islam, whose coming will signal the end times, and that his fight against evolution is part of fighting Islam’s Antichrist, the Dajjal.

On Oktar’s A9 channel, a group of women in tight-fitting designer clothes and dyed blonde hair help him promote Islam and attack evolution, all the while calling him “master.” Oktar refers to the women as his “kittens,” and as Slate reports, he “offers [his kittens’] beauty as evidence of Islamic creationism.”

In 2014, state Rep. Andy Thompson sponsored a bill that would allow intelligent design creationism to be taught in Ohio’s public schools. Rep. Thompson refused to comment for this article, because it did not “pertain to any pending legislation.” Still, on his campaign website, Thompson makes it clear he’s most interested in promoting Christianity.

Thompson is not the only creationist politician in Ohio. In 2009, Gov. John Kasich, who recently suspended his presidential campaign, said he wanted both evolution and creation science taught in public school science class. (Kasich’s office did not responded to repeated questions about whether he supports teaching Islamic creationism alongside Christian creationism.)

Still, like Rep. Thompson, Kasich only appears to be interested in the Christian side of things. In a November 2015 speech to the National Press Club, Kasich called for creating a “new [government] agency that has a clear mandate to promote the core, Judeo-Christian Western values that we and our friends and allies share.” Presumably, Islamic creationism isn’t included in that.

Youngstown City School District is trying to “teach the controversy,” which is an old creationist argument for sneaking religion into schools, Americans United for Separation of Church and State’s Rob Boston told The Daily Beast.

“The district is doing its students a disservice by pretending that a controversy exists when none does,” Boston said. “That the district is apparently inadvertently using material produced by an evolution-denying, anti-Semitic Islamic TV preacher who has been accused of running a sex cult only makes the situation worse.”

What happened in Youngstown, Ohio is a warning for other creationist politicians and school districts, sometimes when you use local control to teach the controversy over evolution, you’re not just opening the door for Jesus: you’re opening it for Islamic sex cults, too.

- Nailing a cat to a door is not a crime because laws are meant to protect humans from humans, in the case of a cat nailed to a door then no human is getting injured. However is the individual was to nail a cat to a door in a public setting then it could be seen as upsetting the peace. But if the individual does this it in private he can not be charged with anything a as he is free to do what he likes. Why should we spend money to arrest and imprison an individual who hurts animals? By taking this human out of society we are eliminating a productive human out of society. Sure the cat will feel pain but animals do not even feel pain like we do, and who cares is the cat suffers I don't care if the cutest cat ever is suffering the most horrible pain the universe can create, it is not human and we shouldn't care about it as a species. If you want to go ahead light your dog on fire I wouldn't care or judge, it is the same as lighting a tree on fire (except this 'tree' screams). This is why cats and other animals are undeserving of rights and humans are. Nailing a cat to a door is not a crime.

Second point animals are simple entities and thus are the same as rocks. Animals do not have the ability to ration or sustain a society. By definition they are not even conscious. They serve no purpose to society. So laws are in place to protect humans and society, if this dog poses a direct threat to a human it should be eliminated no question. Because they fail at all task that society throws at them then animals have no rights and are only entities that can support themselves (but due to the rock cycle animals are no better). What separates us from them is our ability to create an advancing society and our ability to ration. Until another species can appoint their own representative then I will not care about them and I will continue to be for their torture. Still this does not give an individual the permission to hurt another individuals property (or animals) because they do not own it.

Third let's not confuse a single animal from an ecosystem. An ecosystem serves many purposes to humanity and thus should be supported by law. An ecosystem provides the planet with oxygen and water two vital aspects of life. However your common dog does nothing to the environment so it has no rights.

They also disputed whether they were the same people identified in charging documents because those names were typed in all capital letters.

The couple even disputed whether the court proceedings were being conducted in English, although Randall Skates finally conceded that the judge’s questions might have been in that language.

“That sounds like English, and as far as I understand English, yes,” he admitted after a series of questions.

Jennifer Skates asked during a court hearing last week to be permitted to speak to her husband while jailed on $20,000 bond, and she tearfully read a Bible verse to demonstrate that they were “no more twain, but one flesh.”

“We are one person, but we have two brains — and he knows some things and I know other things,” Jennifer Skates said. “So we need to be able to confer with one another.”

The judge did not grant her request, and prosecutors questioned whether she should still be able to represent herself in court, as her husband also is doing.

Randall Skates did not verbally request to speak to his wife, but he filed 27 pages of motions and argued that he should be set free because he never consented to be prosecuted.

The judge reduced his bond from $1 million to $40,000, and the judge reminded Randall Skates that his motions could delay the start of his trial.

The defendant calmly stated his religious views before he was taken back to jail.

“I would just like to let everyone know that I’ve confessed the salvation that Jesus Christ has brought us all and I hope that everyone else in the room has as well,” Randall Skates said.

Franklin Graham cranked up the heat in the debate over North Carolina’s anti-LGBT law by asking his followers whether they were willing to “take a bullet” and become a martyr for their “intolerant” beliefs.

The president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association founded by his father has been complaining about transgender people’s access to public restrooms for months, and he has enthusiastically promoted the controversial HB2.

But in a Facebook message to his followers posted Sunday evening, Graham encouraged anti-LGBT bigots to martyr themselves or face God’s eternal wrath.

“What would you take a bullet for?” Graham asked. “What are the principles and beliefs that you would not compromise under any circumstances? Even if it meant putting your life on the line?”

He cited the biblical tale of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the Book of Daniel, which recounts how three Hebrew boys were thrown into a “fiery furnace” when they refused to bow before the image of King Nebuchadnezzar, which was required under Babylonian law.

The boys were cast into the furnace but survived, and the wicked king saw them walking with a fourth figure who appeared to be a “son of god.”

Graham encouraged his own followers to follow that Old Testament example in opposing American laws that contradict their biblical worldview.

“I want to call on every Christian and every pastor to stand firm like these patriarchs of old and not bow to the secular, increasingly godless culture in which we live—even when (not if) we’re criticized, mocked, and labeled intolerant,” Graham said.

In case the context isn’t entirely clear from that post, just two days earlier Graham alluded to Daniel 3 in another Facebook post to complain about an Obama administration directive on transgender access to public school restrooms.

“Who does President Barack Obama think he is?The sultan of Washington?” Graham asked Friday in a Facebook post. “Does he think he can just make a ‘decree’ and we will bow down and simply obey?”

He encouraged school officials to disobey the directive, which threatens to withhold federal funding to schools that fail to comply with the Obama administration’s interpretation of equal rights laws.

“The president obviously must have no fear of God, who made us and created us male and female,” Graham said. “I hope that school districts across this nation will defy President Obama and his administration’s radical progressive agenda to promote and advance the sin of homosexuality and the LGBT agenda.”

Two days later Graham told his followers that God would protect them if they engaged in violent confrontation over their opposition to LGBT rights.

“The God of the Old Testament that delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from their fiery execution is the same God today — and He is still more than able to save,” Graham promised. “Will you stand against ungodliness? What are you willing to take a bullet for?”

For those who don't know, 'yoni' is a Sanskrit word meaning vagina, vulva or womb. In Hindu culture the female vaginal area, the yoni, is worshiped as a fertility goddess.

While I agree that your vagina is a sacred space and should be treated as such, I also believe that more women should treat their own vagina like they really believe it to be something sacred.

It's hard to convince a man to see your vagina as something special when it's constantly pushing out babies by different men. It's hard to convince others that you are a "goddess" when you live like a sinner on a happy bus trip to hell.

And if you really believed your womb was something sacred, surely you wouldn't allow different men to treat it like their own personal penis punching bag!

I believe a woman's body is sacred because it belongs to God. Not some hindu deity that's really a demon pretending to be a god.

You don't need yoni stones, cute sounding quotes, tattoos in Sanskrit written all over your body, to practice Yoga to know that your vagina was meant to be something sacred and special.

All you need to do is believe what the Bible has to say about you: that you are fearfully and wonderfully made... that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost... and for that reason, you should abstain from defiling your body via fornication and other unclean sexual practices. (Psalm 139:14, 1 Corinthians: 6:18-20)

People gravitate towards Hinduism and other forms of Eastern spirituality because those 'faiths' don't require much for you to explore them. Christianity is also another Eastern form of spirituality. It didn't come from America or Europe you know.

The difference is that Christianity requires you to do the uncomfortable work of disciplining your flesh and keeping it under control. Hinduism doesn't require that... on the surface.

But if you keep messing around with those strange gods and weird esoteric rituals, sooner or later one of those big, bad Hindu demons will jump on your behind and put one of those "Ike Turner" beatdowns on your soul!

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Stop running from Jesus. Give your ALL to Him: spirit, soul and don't forget: BODY. He'll clean you up and turn you around the right way, and make your defiled space into a truly sacred space.

Many of you think that you can attract a good man with Satan's toys: You can't. By now you realize that you are on your way to becoming jaded against life and not able to trust men.

Pastor Michael Harrington placed the words on the reader board outside Belmont Drive Missionary Baptist Church. On one side it reads, “Wake up Christians, Allah is not our God, Muhammad not greater than Jesus.” On the other side, it says, “Only the Bible is God’s word, ‘holy book,’ Koran is just another book.”

“I’m not politically correct. I’ve never been politically correct, but I think I’m biblically correct, and that’s what matters to me,” Harrington told KATU. “It isn’t against any particular denomination. It’s just the fact that I have taught and will continue to teach that I have one God, one way of salvation and one Bible that’s holy.”

But locals, including the mayor, don’t want to see the signs.

“I was really annoyed and sad,” Hood River mayor, Paul Blackburn, told KATU. “I am annoyed that in this political season there’s a solid case of ugly going on. I think it norms up this kind of behavior like ‘oh it’s okay to be a bigot now.'”

Another resident, Eric Cohn, said he was very upset.

“I literally had to stop and back up and make sure I saw what I saw, and I was profoundly offended and upset by it,” Cohn told KATU.

Harrington told the station he has no plans to remove the sign until the beginning of June, when he was planning to put a new one up anyway.

Just one other reason to pull your kids out of the public school system. Sure, there are still some decent ones left in few areas, but most are liberal cesspools. Because liberals don't believe that you deserve the tax money you pay in to educate your child, they don't want you to have a voucher to educate your child in a safe place with good teachers. If you can afford it, pull your child out and find an alternate way for them to be educated. Liberals will leave the poor in failing schools with no way to get out, but it's time for the failing schools to go away. With the federal Department of Education leadership that is full of liberals, the USA is now #34 in the world in education, even though we spend more than most other countries. The money is obviously not getting to the children - more likely to the massive numbers of "administrators" that government has to employ. There are already lawsuits by transgenders against schools about this. A "girl" who still has male genitalia in Iowa doesn't like it that the school makes him/her shower behind a curtain after gym class. He wants to be treated just like the other girls, none of whom have male genitalia. This is a liberal's world of chaos. Why not separate bathrooms for Christians, Jews, Republicans, Democrats, whites, blacks, gays, transgenders, - I'm sure that liberals will come up with some other gender before it's all over with.

What we have seen from this administration is nothing short of a full attack on traditional American values, culture, and family values. This "gender nuetral" bathroom thing is re-structuring of societal norms and values. There has been a sustained attack on the traditional family structure. He has made deals with our enemies. He has gone around apologizing to other countries, countries hostile to the U.S. and freedom. He needs to apologize to the American people.
A local principal told me that hundreds of parents called the school Friday concerned about the president's announcement about the restrooms. They said if the school system goes through with this insanity that they will pull their children out. He said that he agrees and told them to call the school board and voice their concerns. He said if the school loses a hundred students, that is at least a loss of three teachers. I look for home schooling, charter schools, and private schools will double. Public schools will lose lots of staff positions; some may even close. All because of some misguided effort to change the values and beliefs of the U.S. citizens.

The people are finally waking up to what is going on. The agenda is a full assault on long held values and norms. These include traditional family structure. Now it is the "gender nuetral " nonsense of self identity. If this continues, birth certificates will not include male/female designation. It will be illegal for schools, businesses, retail, military, and any organization to make designations of any kind based on gender. Parents will have to observe strict controls on how they raise their children: they would not be allowed to have gender based anything: clothing, toys, decorations; or face losing custody of their children to the government!
Make no mistake: there is an agenda to totally re-shape completely the social and psychological structure olf this society. They are starting first in the schools. Well, many parents are taking children out of the public schools and home schooling or putting their children in private schools. There will be a huge increase in this. The government will try to end that.
People need to stand up and speak out - while it is still legal. The government thinks the people are dumb and passive. Expect to be called "racist, homophobe, transphobe". That is their tactic.

Do you understand the metaphor of the zombie?

When you're watching popular shows like The Walking Dead, do you truly understand what's being programmed into your mind?

It's not just an innocent show. I stumbled across the Walking Dead by accident during the second season. I happened to be over a relative's house, and I walked into a room where the television set was on. I hadn't even heard of such a thing as a walking dead. On the tv, I could see a group of people running from what looked like zombies chasing them. Then they started killing the zombies... which is kind of an oxymoron because technically speaking: a zombie is supposed to be dead already.

It wasn't that it was a zombie show: it was the blatant brutality that was being shown in the way the zombies were being killed. Nothing seemed to be off limits. I saw heads getting smashed in, people's faces getting ripped off, blood and limbs splattered all over the place.

I thought it was an HBO movie! Imagine my shock when I discovered this was on a run of the mill cable TV station... on a Sunday!

I'm not here to advocate for watching or not watching the Walking Dead as a show. You have enough sense to make that determination for yourselves. What I want to deal with here is the subtle programming and desensitization that's taking place while watching it.

The purpose of the Walking Dead and other gory shows like it is to awaken your carnal desires and to program you towards unbridled lust. The great metaphor is that YOU are the zombie!

And it's your unbridled thirst, your insatiable appetite for appeasing your own flesh that has you on a constant brainless search for more flesh to feast on.

You are the walking dead! And so is everyone else who finds it entertaining to watch human beings getting their faces smashed in and limbs ripped from their bodies. When physical brutality becomes your entertainment, it's only a matter of time before you begin to hunger for more forms of brutality.

From what I understand about the show from talking with some of its fans: it didn't start off being so gory. The first season or two was more about the story line. But fans kept requesting more gore and greater kill scenes. So the show's writers and producers gave the masses what they wanted. They upped the ante on blood and brains, interspersed with sex scenes.

More fear. More blood. More gore. More sex. See how subtle yet blatant that is? While you're waiting in rapt attention for the next zombie attack to take place, you're suddenly given a sensual scene that arouses your sexual appetite: followed shortly by another head splitting, face smashing, bloody brain-spilling battle with living flesh eaters. The show forces you to remain at a heightened state of fear juxtaposed with heightened states of sexual arousal.

I honestly don't see how 'saved' folks can enjoy watching such a demonic show. It's only purpose is to activate the zombie inside of you: which is just another way of saying that it is designed to activate your flesh.

And if you're a born-again believer, your first duty once you gave your life to Christ was to start the process of crucifying your flesh.

"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." *Galatians 5:24

You're supposed to kill the natural man through discipline and by living a holy lifestyle: not revive it through watching zombie shows. I told you some of you are really the zombies. You keep allowing the pleasures of sin to revive your old sinful nature.

There's no way you can watch shows like the Walking Dead as a believer without wanting to please your flesh more. And the same applies to watching shows like Empire and the Game of Thrones.

Watching such programming will only help resurrect the sinful nature in you that Christ has commissioned you to destroy:

"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin." *Romans 6:6

Failure to bring your flesh under complete subjection leaves the backdoor of your life open through which Satan can access your life any time he wants to. Close that back door today!

Guard your eye gate! Don't allow any and everything to enter your mind via your eyes. Television is one of Satan's greatest most effective weapons against the Church. Be smart, be aware and be vigilant.

"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." *1 Peter 5:8

Treat watching television and movies like it's a potential serial killer that's trying to break into your home: your home being your mind!

Guard what you watch, and don't think you're strong enough to entertain sin without eventually falling victim to it. I've met plenty of crackheads over the years who thought they were strong enough to enjoy getting high on crack without getting addicted. Most of them are still drug addicts to this day.

And if you play around with watching powerful scenes of sin long enough, eventually you will be overthrown by it too; just like the crackhead. We'll just call you a Walking Dead-head.

Quit trying to revive what God is trying to kill! "Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." *Galatians: 5:1

Some of you have already heard from the Holy Spirit on this matter, and you've been consistently ignoring His voice. This is your reminder. Now it's time to pay attention.

Don't allow a simple TV show to become a snare to you. Salvation is serious business. It's not something to take lightly.

We are in a literal WAR for our spiritual survival and well-being. When you're a soldier on the battlefield, you can't afford the luxury of letting your guard down. The minute you do could be the moment your life gets taken. You have to be equally vigilant as a soldier of Jesus Christ:

"Whoever serves in the military doesn't get mixed up in non-military activities. This pleases his commanding officer." *2 Timothy 2:4 (God's Word Translation)

You're in a war: and Jesus Christ is your Commanding Officer! Satan and the hordes of Hell are your sworn avowed enemies.

But you are well equipped to not only come on top by winning every battle: you're already guaranteed to win the war! But it all hinges on you rising to the occasion and putting sinful pleasures behind you.

That's a powerful warning from a powerful Person who is more than capable of making good on a promise!

Some of you think Jesus is all sweet and soft like a gummy worm. But there is another side to Him that sometimes comes out when He gets highly perturbed.

Like the time He flung over the tables of the money-changers outside the temple and commenced to physically attacking the ones conducting worldly business in the house of God. [John 2:13-16]

Or the time when His own disciples were too slow to get a point He was trying to make to them. [Matt 17:17]

Then there was the fig tree incident. [Mark 11:12-21]

There is another thing that also exposed Jesus' not so fluffy side - namely to cause a little child or a young person who believes in Him to backslide and lose faith or confidence in Him. According to Jesus that is actually one of the deadliest things you can ever do!

So don't do it!

This is a stern warning to all of those who have children and attend church on Sundays - yet their kids see them living like a happy sinner all week long. Do you realize that by doing this you may be causing your own kid to stumble in their faith towards Christ by your hypocritical actions???

Some of you are living proof of this yourself. You grew up watching your own parents half-stepping with their Christian walk. And that's why you half-step with your own walk today, thinking that it's normal.

Many of you ain't saved because you've never had a true conversion experience. That's why you show up to my page arguing FOR sin, instead of against it. Hanging around saved folks doesn't automatically save you too. You can't obtain salvation by osmosis!

You need to have your own true conversion experience, to the point where you lay down your sinful ways and pick up the ways of holiness and right living instead.

There are folks sitting in Hell right now due to the way the older generation lived out a fraudulent example of the Christian faith in front of them. They thought they were Heaven-bound. But woke up instead in Hell's pit.

Jesus will personally hold you accountable if you cause a little one to stumble in their faith towards Him.

So stop fronting and trying to run game on people by living a double-sin-dipping lifestyle. You're not fooling your kids. In fact, they're learning how to pretend and be just like you. And if they miss out on salvation, their lost soul will be on YOUR hands.

So govern yourself accordingly.
