That certainly sounds like a description of America today, doesn’t it? But it was published 26 years ago—in 1988. The paragraph comes from page 97 of a book *(now out of print and replaced by the book 'The Lie') I co-authored as a companion to The Genesis Solution film in 1987, featuring a live presentation I gave that the Lord has used to build the Answers in Genesis ministry: we call it the “relevance of Genesis message.”

Now back in the 1980s, I had been making the statement that “Christians may wake up one day to find Christianity outlawed.” It was a major part of the talks I was giving in churches in both Australia and the USA. Frankly, many Christians laughed at me for even suggesting that such a change could happen. I remember some Americans back then saying something like, “No, not in America—it could never happen here!”

But look at where America is today—and where it is heading!

In essence, the Atheist is enabled to fill the hole totally with himself, and his own personal desires. So Atheism is completely self-focused and narcissistic. This is not to say that all narcissists are Atheist, nor that all Atheists meet the clinical definitions of narcissism. But the first principle of Atheism opens the pathway to narcissism and many take that path.

Intellectually, the Atheist is free to claim logic as a basis for his worldview and simultaneously refuse to provide that logic in a disciplined deductive argument. This indicates an inherent non-coherent irrationality (2) which is traceable to the initial First Principle of Atheism. The Atheist, however, considers his own thought process to be the ultimate in logic, even superceding long established disciplined deductive processes going clear back to Aristotle. Thus the Atheist's self image is that he is the superior intellect, far superior to those who use established disciplined deductive processes.

Morally, the Atheist is free to design his own morals, which will be compatible with the inclinations and personal proclivities of the individual Atheist. Since his moral system is compatible with his behaviors and desires, then the Atheist is "moral" by tautology: he cannot fail. In addition, the Atheist can change his moral basis at any time, without a moment's notice. So the Atheist considers himself totally moral, well beyond the morality of the Other.

While we need to avoid two extremes – the claim that mental illness is always demonic or that all mental illness is simply of a material nature – in Williams’ case, he admitted the danger of plunging into the demonic realm and his concern over its dark consequences, a la Jonathan Winters! The scriptures are clear that we are not at war with flesh and blood but the demonic world (Ephesians 6:12) and that the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but spiritual (2 Corinthians 10:4).

The truth is that only the Lord Jesus Christ has the power and authority to deliver humans from satanic powers. The scriptures reveal that the demonic powers tremble before God’s mighty power (James 2:19). It is in Jesus’ name that believers have victory over the demonic realm

Finally, I had enough, so when he was a captive audience in my car, I gave him detailed descriptions of my experiences of sex with a woman during her menstrual cycle. The man laughs in the faces of distraught and grieving relatives in anticipation, as the judge lifts his gavel to pass sentence.

To his shock the judge’s eyes change and flash with intense indignation, and then with purposeful anger in his words he passes the death sentence. The gravity of his tone and the depth of his wrath were in direct proportion to his goodness.

Again, the analogy is desperately wanting, but it gives us a minuscule insight into the fact that God is so morally impeccable, so absolutely good, so utterly holy that if we were to stand in His presence for a split second, His wrath would spill upon us at lightning-speed, and devour us.

The multitude of our crimes against His perfect Law would draw it upon us like an anvil to an electrified magnet. He would “break forth” onto us.

On Judgment Day He will fall in wrath upon sinful humanity. How inadequate are the words of Scripture to our dull minds if God doesn’t quicken them to us—“Wherefore knowing the terror of the Lord, we persuade men.”

Are you persuading men? If not, then you don’t know the terror of the Lord. If you are unsaved, are you persuaded today to flee to the cross? If not, then you haven’t seen the depth of your own sins and so need to creep up to the Mountain and listen to the Ten Commandments. I plead with you, do that today before the arresting officer of death seizes upon you, and the celestial beings justly cast you into God’s terrible and dark prison…with no hope of parole.

Christians believe that God made man from soil. How dumb is that? If you just said an atheist-amen to the dumb question, then I’d like you to do something the next time you go shopping in a supermarket.

Look at every food item and ask yourself whether or not it traces itself back to soil: potato chips, milk, cheese, eggs, butter, pancakes, bananas, bread, cookies, grapes, apples, beef, chicken, lamb, pork, popcorn, chocolate, cereal, coffee, strawberries, etc. It takes a little bit of backward thinking, but if you take the time to give it some thought, everything traces itself back to the soil.

Let’s do it with eggs. The eggs came from the chicken. The chicken ate the wheat to make the eggs, and the wheat traces itself back to the soil.

When you were a toddler, your mother gave you milk that came from the cow that chewed the grass that came from the soil. Stated simplistically, milk is rearranged soil nutrients.

So is cheese, butter, yoghurt and ice cream. The substance of our bodies is made up of the food we ate, and all the food we ate traces itself back to the soil (Mother Earth). We are rearranged dirt.

Coincidentally, science tells us that the same trace elements that make up soil are the same elements that make up the human body--carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. When you die, your body will turn back into soil, and your soiled soul will return to the God who gave you your life.
