THREE extraordinary developments in women’s fashions have occurred over the past 100 years. They are so widely accepted that most people barely notice them anymore. They are:

1) The gradual acceptance of pants. Once exclusively reserved for men, pants were completely embraced by the 1960s and are so universal now that a first violinist in a major orchestra in my area sits with her legs spread-eagle during the performance. She is wearing pants and is considered free to sit in any position.

2) The rise of informality. Everyday clothes worn 100 years ago would be considered special occasion dress today. Even nuns wear T-shirts and jeans.

3) The striking increase in revealing clothing. Unisex pants lead to camisoles and other forms of public lingerie, clothes that are unambiguously feminine. College presidents and congresswomen even wear low-cut blouses.

These changes have not liberated women. Far from it. They have confined them. They have encouraged women to ape men. They have caused them to lower themselves, especially in the eyes of their children, as a pseudo-man is necessarily inferior to a real man. They have created a world that is less beautiful and less ceremonious. Sixteenth-century peasants dressed with more dignity than wealthy Western women today.

All of this is by way of introducing a remarkable document on this subject. No one has expressed the consequences of these changes better than one particular man writing 52 years ago. Giuseppe Cardinal Siri, the Archbishop of Genoa, wrote a prophetic letter to local clergy in 1960 on the subject of the increasing appearance of women in “trousers.” Archbishop Siri maintained that the adoption of masculine dress by women would ultimately spell disaster:

When we see a woman in trousers, we should think not so much of her as of all mankind, of what it will be when women will have masculinized themselves for good. Nobody stands to gain by helping to bring about a future age of vagueness, ambiguity, imperfection and, in a word, monstrosities.

When a sense of the eternal feminine is lost, there is a flattening of society. He wrote:

The consequences of such violations are not a new outline of man, but disorders, hurtful instability of all kinds, the frightening dryness of human souls, the shattering increase in the number of human castaways, driven long since out of people’s sight and mind to live out their decline in boredom, sadness and rejection. Aligned on the wrecking of the eternal norms are to be found the broken families, lives cut short before their time, hearths and homes gone cold, old people cast to one side, youngsters willfully degenerate and — at the end of the line — souls in despair and taking their own lives.

His letter, posted at Catholicmodesty.com, is well worth reading in its entirety. These are extreme words, but all of it has come true.

So don’t let your child date anyone who isn’t a Christian. If their best friends aren’t Christians, switch youth groups and try to find another source of Christian friends for them. And you yourself should model the importance of Christian friends by having them yourself.

Keep in mind that the danger is not just that your child will become involved with non-Christians and thus start drinking or doing things you’d rather they not. I’ve seen Christian teens become immersed with very upstanding citizens who aren’t Christian, and that was part of the problem. They knew so many kids who were “good” who didn’t go to church that they started to suspect that you didn’t need to go to church to be good (which of course you don’t). And then church became superfluous.

*Subject is shooting spree in Chicago park*

You people DO realize that most of these attacks are staged, right? They make some sob story about made up people who were shot by "an EVIL white guy with guns!", and then they use that as a good enough excuse to take our rights away. Now to get weapons, I have to go to some kind of test and prove my allegiance to the government. Not even kidding, I've been to those "background checks", and they're all designed to test whether or not you could be harboring antigovernment thoughts. It's kinda obvious, actually. You sheeple will believe anything.

[Regarding the Navy yard shooter]

It’s now clear, if it wasn’t before, that violent video games are a definite menace to society. So, Americans must ask themselves, “When are we going to end the violent video game madness?”

We must wean our young people away from these violent video games, and into more profitable pursuits. We must stop blaming guns for our problems, and start dealing with the troubled and evil people using the guns and the politically correct authorities who fail to enforce the laws already on the books.

Also, we must end the arbitrary judicial bans on religious and moral teaching in our schools that deprive America’s children of the Ten Commandments that God gave Moses and the Hebrew people on Mount Sinai and the teachings that Jesus Christ gave his disciples in the Sermon on the Mount in Chapters Five through Seven of the Gospel of Matthew and in Chapters 13 through 17 of the Gospel of John.

Hitler outlaws abortion of GERMAN babies, but supported abortion of the "undermention". Nice try! Hitler, did support prayer BUT prayer to the PARTY, not God, as he planned to replace the idea of religion with the worship of the Party. Hitler did rebuild the Military, as part of the Government work program to provide jobs and lower unemployment. I also notice Obama has NOT cut the Military and now even wants to attack Syria which much like Poland has done NOTHING to warrant such and attack. The Nazi party was full of Homosexuals, many were killed in the Night of the Long knives, but they were active party members, and not ALL were sent to Camps, just those that questioned Hitler. Hitler took rights from all that opposed him not just those more to his left, just like you Democrats are trying to do now, with talk radio and Fox News.

So not you attempt to twist history did not bother me in the least. Oh FYI, I am a history teacher, your over matched.
