One of the sharpest divisions in United States politics is over taxpayer-funded abortion, and fetal homicide in general.

By a 7-2 vote the U.S. Supreme Court legalized fetal homicide on demand in 1973 throughout the United States, which invalidated laws in virtually every state prohibiting or limiting abortion.

The highly controversial U.S. Supreme Court decision stated that prohibiting abortion violated a woman's constitutional rights, and that the right to life granted in the constitution was not originally intended to apply to an unborn child.

Some have pointed to the incongruity of US federal law which deems that the fertilized eggs of any of over 800 species of native birds warrant federal-government protection under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 while the fertilized egg of a human being is regarded as a disposable mass of tissue.

Jake inevitably goes native, embraces the eco-faith of Pandora's Na'Vi inhabitants and their tree goddess, the "all mother," and rallies the Pandoran aborigines (not to mention the Pandoran ecosystem itself) against the evil forces of a thinly veiled 22nd century combine of Blackwater and Halliburton...

What would have been controversial is if -- somehow -- Cameron had made a movie in which the good guys accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts.

Of course, that sounds outlandish and absurd, but that's the point, isn't it? We live in an age in which it's the norm to speak glowingly of spirituality but derisively of traditional religion. If the Na'Vi were Roman Catholics, there would be boycotts and protests. Make the oversized Smurfs Rousseauian noble savages and everyone nods along, save for a few cranky right-wingers...

But what I find interesting about the film is how what is "pleasing to the most people" is so unapologetically religious.

Regardless, no amount of "evidence" can convince me anything the Bible says is incorrect. It is written, we walk by faith, and not by sight.

[Re. the case of Perry v. Schwarzenegger which will determine whether or not Prop 8 violated the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.]

Millions of Californians weighed in on this issue. Many invested their own hard earned money and time to exercise their rights as citizens. The United States Supreme Court has already ruled that States can limit marriage to one man and one woman (albeit in a summary decision).

One homosexual maniac is going to overturn the will of the people via fiat, without any basis in the law.

One man with the sweep of his hand can tell 13,000,000 voters that what they say doesn't matter.

How is that Freedom? We are living in a dictatorship.

To me this seems to be a very strange phenomenon, since the homosexual agenda would have you believe that homosexuals are present everywhere. Yet in sports they seem to be lacking. I think there's a few reasons. First off, in sports, you have to be strong-willed to succeed, yet homosexuals were weak-willed enough to succumb to their temptations. Secondly, sports help reaffirm the young athletes with people of the same gender. Boys unconsciously observe how other boys act and model their behavior on this; the same with girls. This is one of the reasons Dr. James Dobson encourages parents to have their children play sports -- it helps discourage the gender dissociation which is one of the causes of homosexuality.[1] In that vein, it's not surprising that the majority of homosexuals in sports come from individual sports, such as tennis, golf, figure skating or diving. In team sports, the players have to be like-minded with the others to form an effective team, so if one of them is having distracting thoughts, the whole team suffers. The homosexuals become a liability for teamwork and either must adopt a straight lifestyle or leave the sport. This is why there are so few homosexual athletes.

The post, “I wouldn't want my child to read the bible unsupervised anyway, too many passages with mass killings and other mayhem.” sounds prejudicial. While there are some confusing passages in the bible, a parent can readily relay (or provide a study guide) the overriding positive message of the bible in terms of salvation, care for the poor, social justice, etc. In contrast, look at the killings that atheistic regimes (Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot) have brought to society in the last 100 years, not to mention that secular-driven abortion policies annually kill 46 million worldwide! Which future vision do you want for your children?

A dark and malevolent cloud is descending on America. The democrats in Congress and this administration have wrought such a horrible nightmare on this country that darkness will be a blessing. At least we won't be able to see the devastation that this apocalyptic adventure in socialist mythos will bring down upon America. When the American public was fooled into electing a Muslim fanatic to the position of President they were blinded by efforts on the part of our corrupt main stream media to hide his past and his ideological hatred for America. They hid his socialist agenda from the public because they approve of that cancerous malignancy, but far worse for our country, is the fact that they hid his undeniable hatred for Christians and Jews. He has proven his desire to see America as an equal to third world cesspools through his scourging of our economy. What even I didn't realize is that democrats in Congress were willing accomplices to this insanity. What he has done is criminal and he should be held to account for the willful destruction of the most prosperous and also the most philanthropic nation on Earth. He is a liar and a bastard, (Derogatory term for a variation that is not genuine; something irregular, inferior or of dubious origin). He has lied time and time again yet the MSM defends him and his egregious lies.

Conservative Christian activist Scott Lively described Uganda’s “kill the gays” bill as “a step in the right direction” in an interview with radio talk-show host Alan Colmes, although Lively said the proposal goes too far in its punishments.

Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries, praised Uganda for “actively discouraging the mainstreaming of homosexuality” when he appeared on Colmes’s show Monday night. He told Colmes he does not agree with the legislation’s prescriptions of life imprisonment or capital punishment for gays in certain circumstances, and he does not think parliament will pass the measure as currently written. Pressed by the host about what he would consider appropriate punishment, Lively said only that he does not favor incarceration for gays and that society should encourage heterosexual marriage.

Lively was one of three U.S. conservative Christian leaders who spoke at a conference in Uganda last March on how to fight homosexuality. The bill was drafted shortly thereafter, and some press reports, like this New York Times article, have explored how U.S. evangelicals may have influenced the antigay movement in Uganda — although Lively and the other Americans have tried to distance themselves from the legislation.

Quote# 69649

Atheists claim that scientific knowledge has replaced the need for appeals to God to explain the universe. This is easily demonstrated to be false, as countless legendary scientists found it necessary to invoke God to explain First Causes in the universe. Isaac Newton could explain what gravity did but not what caused it, and believed God kept the universe in motion. While Albert Einstein's theistic views were complex, he too could not explain the universe without God, and famously derided chaos in the universe by stating "God does not play dice." Even in the 21st century, no scientific theory attempts to replace appeals to God in explaining the universe's existence.

Indeed, atheists have merely usurped the mantle of "science" to disguise unevidenced assertions. They claim that evolution has been proven as scientific valid, that evolution necessarily proves abiogenesis, and that abiogenesis precludes God and design. The first claim is refuted by numerous theistic scientists, the second is a belief, and the third is a philosophical absurdity. Atheists believe the universe can be explained without recourse to God, but have no actual evidence to back up their assertions.

Note: Just to let you it is not that we don’t believe in things like that, it is just misleading when you talk about it being billions of years old, when we all know that the world is only about 6,000 years old. So why would I pay so that you can misslead my children, your world is just a revolving(?), ours has a start and an end. God created the world. He created animals and man all in the same week. It was also Adam who named all the animals, they will do the essay ‘Rock and Minerals’ but it might not be 5 pages long, and about billions of years, it will be according to the Bible

With the RCC it's all about deceiving, entrapping it's followers into beleiving that they NEED the RC traditions (sacraments, mass, indulgences, prayer cards, relics, false Jesus said to be in the Eucharist, false Mary) to get them to heaven otherwise they'll go to hell or to an imaginery place called Purgatory, with no chance of getting out and be declared an "anathema". This works out quite well for the POPE, cardinals, bishops and priests so the whole system can live on in Rome in all its finery, where the pompous Pope sits on a throne made literally of GOLD. And that is NO understatement. It's a money making self serving religious system in every sense. Jesus and his disciples were very HUMBLE and even Jesus himself did not place himself on a throne in his time here on earth and he was 100% more deserving of that than any appointed Pope.

[Re. a Muslim group supposedly wants to construct a mosque near Ground Zero.]

I just keep telling myself that this world is going to be getting what it wants....tolerance to the point of destruction and then when the rapture happens and everything that is going on during the tribulation it is what they wanted. A blind eye was turned to evil, we forsook the Constitution that was to protect this once great Christian country. We forsook the God of our country. During the tribulation people will have to starve and get their head chopped off to stand for Christ or continue with their tolerance and spend eternity in hell. Wow! I am so glad I know Jesus as my Lord and Savior!

They haven't won, muslims nor politicians. It just appears this way for now. There will be a time when the evildoers will be in hell, remembering how much glee they had over their wickedness but they will now be in torment for eternity. I understand why God is so patient and longsuffering, but we see how the world is getting darker and how so many deny the true, living God.

It does scare me to see where this country is going not knowing how much longer, but I, too, am excited knowing things have to get worse and worse for the coming of our Lord,(not the rapture). I just pray He is coming soon, yet I also know many muslims are coming to faith in the true and living God, the creator of the universe and lover of my soul. Let the Lord deal with those that thought it was a great thing to allow evil at our door in the name of tolerance. They will be the ones paying the ultimate price. We were told how things would be. We were also told to witness and share the Good News. So, stay busy!

I thank-you Lord that my eyes are open and focused on you. Please come, Lord.

[Kingdom of Heaven film review]

Who started the Crusades? If you think Christians, I would disagree. One man Urban pope II, started the Crusades. As a Christian, I do not have any of the same beliefs as Catholicism… I do not relate myself as a Christian to the Crusades. This movie never explained who started the crusades and why. If they mentioned the Pope started the crusades this would be an anti-Catholicism film. Instead of the truth, it made it sound as if the Christians started the Crusades. Very biased and makes me sick. If one would read the Koran, they would see a lot of scripture that is insane. The Muslims do not pray to the same god as my God. I do not believe in some things the Koran teaches.

I can go on and on giving history lessons. I know it was very brief and someone can easily disagree with me, but the fact is a Pope started the Crusades.

Its a common thing now for young people to use abortion as birth control, I heard of a young african woman that had 4 - 5 abortions in a span of a couple of years (disgusting)..... I once heard the testimony of a woman who used to work for one of the abortion providers, and they would go into public schools and encourage young kids as young as elementary school to explore each others bodies (they would do this knowing they would be sexually active as young teens), and when they would talk to young teens they would hand out birth control pills to young girls (but the birth control pills were diluted so that they would get pregnant), and they could perform abortions on them, and make money, they even had a quoto to acheive so they could make a million dollars a year or something like that.... There has to be a special place in hell for baby killers who do wicked things like that.
