13Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
We get so caught up in making plans, for the future, our lives, etc. God has promised never to leave or forsake us, and trying to ensure your security by your own works is not trusting God, in essence you are calling Him a liar. He will provide for you, if you humble yourself and ask. Remeber also God isn't going to give us something that is out of line with His will, sorry. God knows what is best for us, and He wants us to look to him. Phillipians 4:6 People have twisted scripture to mean something totally opposite of what God intended. I suppose an argument against me would be John 10:10. The abundance Jesus speaks of isn't a material worldy one. He is referring to the abundance one would know when being totally fulfilled by Christ. Jesus did not die so you could have all the money you want. Is money necessary, yes. Is it the most important? no! Our most prosperous future is held in the scarred hands of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His Word is a lamp to feet, I encourage you to trust fully in Him, and not the economy. We are part of a far better economy, God's economy. We are joint heirs with Christ.
