Quote# 56557

"Wait, why is Christianity getting the credit again?"

Let's see:

The classical world had no real moral system except might makes right. This was true of the Greeks, the Roman, the Germanic tribes, the Babylonian, The Persian, Etc.

Judaism came up with this revolutionary idea that other people should be given moral consideration, even the poor, even the reviled, even one's enemies.

Along comes Christianity and makes that into a universal moral imperative, one that ultimately informed our worldview today. Indeed, we can trace that imperative to various particular Christian texts, such as the gospel, Paul's epistles, the writings of Augustine.

Which is why we ask if some action is right or wrong -- that wasn't really an issue in the classical world.

Does that help?

I believe the new "theistic evolution" is just the enemy's way of introducing evolution into Christian theology and make it sound good. It is desensitizing our children the same way violent games are desensitzing them to violence.

The question of whether it is right or wrong for a Christian to own a TV is controversial. Personally, I think it depends upon the individual. For example: some women have a tendency to become lazy and sit around watching soap operas instead of getting their housework done. In such a case, I think, a Christian woman ought to not have a TV, unless she can discipline herself concerning what and when she watches TV. If a man is experiencing unholy sexual temptations because of the things he is seeing on TV, then I think he ought not to have a TV. The same is true of the internet.

A list of the most common evolution and old earth lies:

1) No one has ever been killed in the evolution's name, and Hitler was not connected to it.
2) Darwin was not racist, and he did not recant evolution on his death bed.
3) Evolution is not connected to communism, and Haeckel never lied.
4) Evolution was never about putting black people into a sub-human category.
5) No one has ever falsified evidence in evolution's name.
6) The Stanley Miller experiment did not have any problems.
7) Human experiments were never used to try and prove evolution.
8) Polar flips are a absolute.
etc... etc...

Bring up any of these subjects as errors, and your job, or grade, is in danger. So does any of this have anything to do with religion? Nope, just errors that evolutionists are unwilling to admit. And are more willing to destroy someones life that may try and expose any of the errors. So according to evolutionists, it is better to teach lies than it is to correct them. For there is no excuse for teaching lies that are over 100 years old.

Off subject Side note: A friend of mine was applying for a manager job for one of the biggest pizza delivery companies in America. He was not shy about letting someone know he was a Christian, but he was not one to bug someone with his faith. The person doing the interview, a area supervisor, told him that if she hired him. That if he ever mentioned God to her, or if she had a complaint about this from someone else. Or if he brought this up to her because of her life style, on the clock or off. She would make sure he was fired. And she would black ball him from ever getting another Job in a management position for another company. And that the terms of being hired by her is that he would have to agree with that. She did not believe in God, which means she believed in the alternative (evolution). Do you see how the theory demands total dominance and thought control? Free thinking? I don't think so.

You know, that really pees me off to see Ryan in a kilt, and it really tells me where this wicked society is going. They are finally trying to normalize the thought of men wearing dresses after a century of women wearing pants, which is also an abomination (Deuteronomy 22:5). And so is long hair on a man, regardless of what style he gives it (I Corinthians 11:14).

I found this board because I was hoping to find an article posted by someone, just one person, who was as angry as I am about it, but this is pretty much all I’ve found. I would never allow a child of mine to play with such a doll because it infuriates me to see a male of any kind wearing a skirt/dress! In fact, it makes me SICK!!!

I mean, when did people forget the fact that women are supposed to wear dresses while men wear pants, not the other way around? I don’t care who you are, if you’re female, you look better in a dress with possibly a matching bow in your hair. Males look better in a pants and with short hair. That goes for any culture, race, age group, and at any point in history.

I’d rather see a woman in a camouflage dress than a floral pair of pants, and the same is true of men — they’d be better off in a pink shirt with a lilac tie than in a plaid kilt! It is the DESIGN that matters, not the color, the print, or what people choose to call it. I am a fundamental Baptist who believes that God is not a respector of persons or cultures, so it makes me sick to think that such a doll would be sold right here in the state of TEXAS, which is supposedly the most conservative state in the U.S., which used to be the most godly nation in the world!

Cause as far as I'm concerned, God created the morals we are to adhere to. Since God makes the rules, then hell CANNOT be "immoral" because HE has created what is moral and what is not moral. If God, the creator of Morals, says "eternity in Hell for not following me is moral" then guess what--its moral!

Quote# 56418

I have read many great articles by Christian men and women regarding the participation of women in the workforce, politics, and in the military. These are activities that most women didn’t participate in until fifty years ago. However, I feel there is one other major activity these writers have not addressed. For some reason, they've overlooked women’s participation in sports.

For quite a long time, women resisted the feminist call to play sports, since they just weren’t interested like men were. But this didn't sit well with the feminists; they felt this was the fault of male oppression. In the name of “equality,” feminist leaders poked and prodded and pushed women to join the games, until women in droves finally succumbed to the pressure. I think this should give us strong reason to pause and consider the question, “Should women participate in sports?”

...

For those of us who believe we should train our daughters according to Titus 2, 1 Peter 3, and other Biblical passages, my answer is “Yes, it is not good.” I propose that sports greatly hinders the development of godly, Biblical, feminine character. Parents today expend extraordinary amounts of time and energy taking their daughters from one sports event to another, week after week, even to the point where it exhausts the family and family resources. The fruits we see are that today’s Christian women are often ill-prepared to be Biblically obedient wives and mothers. This brings to mind a couple of questions: “Why do we spend so much time preparing our daughters to play sports?" and "What does it prepare them for in the future?” My answer is that sports prepare women to be more like men. Instead of spending all that time preparing our daughters as the Bible directs, we are training them to be like men so they can better compete with men in traditionally masculine roles - i.e., compete with them in the workforce, in politics, in the military, and in sports.

Grade school textbooks teach evolution as fact. It is a monstrous lie that harms our children.

The evolution theory says we evolved from the original Big Bang and later crawled out of a green slime from the ocean.

Here is one example of its ludicrous hypothesis.

Of all the mysteries surrounding evolution, the one that is most baffling to the evolutionists, is "water." Where did all the oceans come from?

As explained on the National Geographic program, it came from a massive collision in space. As the Earth was cooling from the Big Bang, it was approached by a stray planet that was teeming with water. It collided with Earth, spilled its water onto the Earth, then careened off into space.

Talk about fairy tales. By the way, where did the stray planet get its water?

Come on evolutionists, surely you can develop a more plausible explanation that can be easier to swallow. Until then, I accept the Bible's answer. After all, the 4,000-year-old book has a perfect track record.

The evolution theory is only 140 years old.

Quote# 56468

Homosexuality is wrong. It is a sin. God says so. To push homosexuality people have to ignore that fact that homosexuality is a sin. They have to reject God. Freedom of religion is their right but our founding fathers that penned these rights also realized homosexuality was, and is, wrong. Homosexuals have to ignore the better judgment of our founding fathers and throw out family values. Even ignoring this, homosexuality is still indecent and immoral. To defend homosexuality you must reject decency and morality. If there is no sin, no God, no tradition of our founding fathers, no sexual decency and no sexual immorality, then how can anything be wrong? If it is acceptable to be a homosexual, then how can we condemn polygamy, pornography, sexual harassment, sexual language, bestiality or any other form of sexual behavior? Why do teenagers need majority capacity? They need it for long lasting, greatly significant or special things. If there is nothing special about sex, there is no sin or God, family values do not matter, the law is changed as with homosexuality, there is no morality or decency then there is really no need for majority capacity or an adult mind. After all they understand it well being trained in school. God said both are wrong. I agree. They should be compared together. If we just ignore someone practicing the sin of a homosexuality then what reason do we have not to ignore the sin of a someone have sex with a consenting and knowledgable minor?

Maybe we should cut the atheists some slack here. After all, they have conceded that “There probably is no God.” I take this to mean that they have finally caught up with the theory of quantum mechanics formulated in the 1920s. Now that they are stating reality in terms of “probabilities”, they’re only about 85 years behind the rest of us.

As for the young lady in the interview, she was “probably” hot. Of course, THAT means that she has finite probabilities of existing simultaneously in both the “hot babe” and the “dogfaced bowser” states of existence.

At that juncture, it would seem to be a good place to ask collie if he has any comments on the “matter”.

My collie says:

You realize, of course, that if I try to investigate in order to determine the young woman’s actual state of existence, my tampering will irreversably alter the outcome.

I’m not sure AllahPundit wants to take that chance. I think he has “the hots” for her.

As a computer programmer with over twenty-five years experience, i know a little bit about logic.Because of this, i can say most definitely that there IS a god.
The guy dawkins is living proof that a university education is no barrier to making yourself into an absolute pratt - in fact ,paradoxically, it may be a positive help.

Think of the air we breathe, and the liquid called water which we use to drink, wash, bathe and clease ourselves with. And these are only a few examples of the ways in which this this miraculous - yes miraculous- subsance is utilised.

To get closer to god, just open your eyes and ears to the miracle of creation.
Our blessed lord showed us many signs of the miraculous power that the creator has at his disposal.
Jesus said: "seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will be opened to you".
Listen to the word of the lord and have complete faith in HIM, not a silly attention-seeker who looks more foolish each time he speaks

This would be a much better country if it was a theocracy, however we are not. The founding fathers believed in God. George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson: they all believed in God, and they established this country with rules out of the Bible. So we have always had Christian laws in our Constitution, not much you can do about it now is there? So stop complaining.

[from a news article]

Eleven gay bars in Seattle were sent letters Tuesday threatening ricin attacks — in what some are describing as a hate crime.

The anonymous letters say, "I have in my possession approximately 67 grams of ricin with which I will indiscriminately target at least five of your clients. ... I expect them to die painfully while in hospital."

A 12th letter was sent to the alternative weekly The Stranger, according to its Web site. That letter says the paper should be "prepared to announce the deaths of approximately 55 individuals."

The letter lists the bars as: The Elite, Neighbours, The Wildrose Bar, The Cuff, Purr, The Seattle Eagle, R Place, Re-bar, C.C.Attle's, Madison Pub and The Crescent. The letter implies the attacks will take place one Saturday this month.

In a statement, the Seattle Police Department said it takes the threat seriously. It has seized the letters and is processing them and is coordinating efforts with the FBI and other federal agencies.

There is no other book, ancient or modern, like [the bible]. The vague, and usually erroneous, prophecies of people like Jeanne Dixon, Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, and others like them are not in the same category at all, and neither are other religious books such as the Koran, the Confucian Analects, and similar religious writings. Only the Bible manifests this remarkable prophetic evidence, and it does so on such a tremendous scale as to render completely absurd any explanation other than divine revelation.

From a letter to the editor of The Irish Times, Monday 5 January 2009. The subject was 'The Catholic Church and Celibacy' (!!!!)

Until original sin, mankind enjoyed a pre-pubertal secual innocence. To judge by the one human being we know of who is free from original sin, the Blessed Virgin Mary, human procreation before original sin seems to have been virginal, that is, not involving an active role on the part of either then male or the female.

I didn’t say I don’t accept any other beliefs, it's not a matter of "believing differently" it it's when one believes there is NO God PERIOD, that is the issue here., I do accept other beliefs that believe in a God, and do respect their right to BELIEVE in a god, at least they follow their God given intuition, (although it may not be the one true God, but that’s a different issue)
But for atheist who do not believe in a god, they are not only pathetic but also foolish IMO, simply because of their ignorance. And it's hard for me to accept their ignorance.
