Quote# 40260

I too am at peace. This is a very scary and exciting time we live in. We are blessed to be able to see God's word unfold on a daily basis in regards to the end times.

With all the political upheaval, wars, famines, weird natural disasters, it is so good to know why these things are happening and to know that we are loved and ultimately protected from anything that happens here on earth. I could die in an earthquake or car wreck tomorrow but I know exactly who will have their arms out waiting for me. I don't know how folks who don't have this assurance can even function.

[An update on the Colorado legislation SB-200 allowing transgendered people to use the restroom of their choice. It was signed into law.]

"Who would have believed that the Colorado state Legislature and its governor would have made it fully legal for men to enter and use women’s restrooms and locker-room facilities without notice or explanation?

Henceforth, every woman and little girl will have to fear that a predator, bisexual, cross-dresser or even a homosexual or heterosexual male might walk in and relieve himself in their presence."

[snip]

"This is your government in action. It represents a payback to Tim Gill and two other billionaires who have essentially ‘bought’ the state Legislature with enormous campaign contributions. Coloradans deserve better!"

Gays can have a civil partnership which has the EXACT SAME BENEFITS as marriage, they're fighting over a title. Besides that we shouldn't have to conform to a small group of people, let's step back and look at a hypothetical scenario. There are only three Muslim people in America. They say that it's against their religion to wear skimpy clothes in, let's say, a gym class they're in. Does that mean that every single school should change their women's gym attire for those three people? Should even that one school do that? Let me ask you something, Atheists. What year is it?

...2008? Guess who that system's based off of. Christians start few wars and if you're talking about the Crusades, Christians and Jews held Jerusalem. Muslims came in and killed everyone because they were taking it for the 'religion of peace'. If you're driving in your car with a concealed pistol and someone walks up, shanks you, and drives away, what would YOU do? We don't take the Bible literally, if you'd ever read it and been to a church you'd know. It's the moral of the stories. Funny, I'm talking about morals on an Atheists forum. If you're Atheist, that's fine by me. But don't act all high and mighty and attempt flaming Christians and Christianity because you don't believe in their God, unless you want people to make you look like an idiot. Remember, you're supposed to post about ATHEISM in the ATHEISM forum, NOT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE CHRISTIANS.

[Excerpt from an article about praying for lower gas prices, which incidentally have gone up .43/gallon since they started this mess.]

"This whole thing is a wake-up call from God to Americans, because we idolize men so much," said Twyman, 59, a public relations consultant and Seventh-day Adventist who believes that high gas prices are a sign of the apocalypse drawing nigh. "I think through this crisis, God is trying to call us back to depend on Him more."

You can't be moral without God. Without God, there would be no morals. I could say that stealing is okay, while you despise it. This reminds me of an argument where an atheist tried to tell a Christian that it was wrong that men in the Bible who were not told otherwise would marry close relatives. The fact is, if you're an atheist, you can't believe in morals. Instead, you believe what you want to believe. So how can you judge others?

I know that the internet is filled with 'lies' and 'truths', but one has to question how much of this stuff is true. Especially when it pertains to Obama. I have been checking out Muslim message boards, and other places. It really does appear that this could be America's final year as a free nation.

I am not trying to worry anyone, but I get so discouraged seeing how so many Christians are falling for this man's lies. Please, lets pray for God's divine intervention. If we aren't raptured before this man is elected, then we are truly in for some hard times. I hope that I am just being paranoid, but I am pretty sure that this is why I started feeling a spiritual uneasiness about America's future a couple of years back. I wasn't into politics then. What's that tell ya?

[RE: the Christian marine in trouble for proselytizing to Muslim Iraqi citizens... it starts so good...]

If he was on duty he should be held accountable for his actions. If he was off duty then he shouldn't be handing tracks out at such a vulnerable place making a distraction opening the check point to be more vulnerable. But if the spirit had prompted him to do this, then he must submit to Gods' will. Who knows which one of those muslims might convert and cause a domino effect as a result of those coins. He needs our prayer and support not condemnation, no matter what your understanding of the constitution says.
GOD first, everything and anything other than Him is just static.

(just picking few pearls from a great article)

This is the fallacy of bifurcation (false dilemma). Some secular astronomers argue that there are only two options: steady state and big bang; steady state cannot justify the cosmic microwave background, so they conclude the big bang must be true. But, of course, there is a third alternative: the Bible is true.

...

"If supernatural explanations are allowed, which would we use?"

How about the one written by the God who actually created the universe, knows everything, never makes mistakes, and never lies?

...

Actually, every experiment we perform demonstrates the truth of the Christian worldview, and the falsehood of others, such as Buddhism and Hinduism.

Quote# 40234

Faith is the ultimate test, not truth. Faith is the belief in the trustworthiness of an idea or deity that cannot be proved. By that standard, those most likely to go to heaven are those whose faith denies things easily proven scientifically, like the age of the earth, the rotation of the planets around the sun and the evolution of whales from land mammals.
Saying that Unitarians accept that Jesus Christ was of virgin birth and could walk on water, however unlikely those miracles are to be true, is not the same standard of faith since there is no way to repeat the experiment, verify its scientific impossibility, and yet believe it anyway.
Why would anyone want to be a Unitarian and run the risk of not going to heaven when you can become an evangelical Baptist and reject science entirely?

Nothing but a good laugh from a cheesey site. Stop acting like a douchebag and have a face to face debate with Hovind. Yes you're scarred because you want to hide behind your computer like the rat you are. Hey It's funny how you called the other person 10 when you act worse than him. Makes mme question your intelligence, which is none. Proof for evolution my ass. You need to re-take anatomy and learn animal anatomy and then you might learn something. HAHA I remember reading when National Geographic published a fake fossil as evidence (haha makes me question what else is fake). cough:: piltdown man, Nebraska man:: cough or do you need man many more? Learn science and stop acting like a bunch of ignoramus' and this is possibly the stupidest site.

I will settle this once and for all because I have an answer (that can't be disputed) for why the Earth CANNOT have been created billions of years ago. Dinosaurs are in the bible ('Dragons',' Behemoths', 'Giant Lizards','leviathons') the description given for these creatures match only the skeletons which archaeologists have discovered to be dinosaurs, which means humans and dinosaurs were around at the same time. When they were around - we were around. Which was not billions of years ago.

I think that's very possible. I also think that it is very possible that the church will be in heaven as the 70th week will be under way. If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, I think life will be very different for us than it is now. I think home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states and homsexual marriages will be the law of the land. I believe that the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state and will not be allowed to criticize other religious groups, alternative lifestyles or preach Jesus as the only Way. I believe sharing Christ will result in losing our children, confiscation of property and prison terms for the undeterred. I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us. I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater". Wild weather will become the norm and a day without a huge disaster will be a rarity.

Quote# 40219

[Why are they (females) physically incapable of being ordained?]

Because of divine mandate. The Church has no power to confer the priesthood unto women. It's not that the Holy See is choosing not to ordain: they simply cannot. It is not within the power of the Pope or bishops to alter divine mandate.

[And I don't think "sexist" means what you think it means.]

It's funny how you keep saying this yet you're wrong every single time. You are devaluating the female sex by trying to say they are the same as men, which is simply and obviously untrue.

[Vatican Deems Alien Life Possible]

The groundwork is being laid for the greatest deception the world has ever known. It is no laughing matter. That this is coming from the Vatican is no surprise, though to say that these Aliens are spiritual brothers-WOW, that surprises me a bit. It shows how very close to it we are.

There are aliens out there, but they are an evil manifestation breaking into the physical realm. They have left their place and are messing around in our world.

Isn't it amazing that people will swallow the belief than we descended from slime that eventually turned into apes that eventually turned into humans; and that there is life on other planets but have rejected a holy God and the sinful nature of man?

If there were truly other life forms out in the universe (other than the angels, fallen and holy) God would have revealed that to us in His word.

People better wake up and realize that angels have the power to manifest in any form they choose. For our benefit or our destruction

[Regarding a new decree by the Vatican which explicitly bars the ordination of women.]

The decree was published Thursday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, which in a headline called the ordination of women a "crime."

The congregation said it acted to "preserve the nature and validity of the sacrament" of ordination.

The decree — signed by the congregation's head, American Cardinal William Levada — said anyone trying to ordain a woman and any woman who attempts to receive the ordination would incur automatic excommunication.

I won't go into all the well-known weaknesses of Darwin's theory. This book is a rather desperate attempt to "re-introduce" the theory to a public that is mostly skeptical of its claims. The book abounds with logical fallacies. One is that a change in the proportion of certain individuals within a population (e.g. bacteria resistant to antibiotics) is somehow PROOF of that population evolving into another species. Yet the actual PROOF is conspicuously missing. The bacteria remain bacteria.

They may have left out God from the Constitution, but they did not leave out Jesus, the son of God. So I think they pretty well acknowledged there is a God, father of Jesus Christ.

Now if you haven’t figured out where Jesus is mentioned in the Constitution - and in the Declaration of Independence too - just look at the bottom where they signed it:

In the year of our Lord….L - capitalized, meaning Jesus Christ.
