Quote# 39265

your religion of scientism is as imperfect and incomplete as the intelligence and reason of men who fabricated it. in truth, the god you obey, reason, spelled with a capital r, is a synonym for satan. in his worship, millions, especially Christians, have been murdered, from the Huguenots during the french revolution, to the twenty million orthodox kulaks starved to death in the ukrainian holomodor. so take your "reason" and stuff it.

Quote# 39285

(a long-ass rant so I'll cut it short)

The attack is on. It’s not the first time. And if history teaches us anything, it will not be the last. Evolutionists are mad. But they do not intend to just “get angry”; they intend to “get even.” The walls of their Neo-Darwinian Jericho are crumbling around them. They know it. They’ve known it for a long, long time. The problem is, now other people are figuring it out as well. A lot of other people! The time to act has come. Take off the gloves. Get down. Get mean. Get dirty. Win—at all cost!

Creationism has been making far too much headway, in far too many places—with far too much favorable publicity. Sound the battle call. Rally the troops. Call out the reserves. Enlist the allies. Engage the enemy. Press forward. Refuse to retreat!

( *snip* )

Now comes John Rennie, the editor of Scientific American, to enter the fray. In the July 2002 issue, Mr. Rennie penned an article titled “15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense” in which he caricatured creationism, while feebly attempting to bolster the increasingly faltering theory of organic evolution. Joining Mr. Rennie is Thomas Hayden, a staff writer for U.S. News & World Report who authored the cover story of the magazine’s July 29, 2002 issue (“A Theory Evolves”)—a feature plainly intended to “strike back” at creationists, as Hayden made clear when he echoed the evolutionists’ party line: “The evidence against evolution amounts to little more than ‘I can’t imagine it.’ That’s not evidence. That’s just giving up”

Well, gentlemen, I have news for you. We are not giving up! You have thrown down the gauntlet; we will not hesitate to pick it up. You have drawn the line in the sand; we will not shrink from crossing it. Your bullying tactics and name calling may intimidate some and impress others. It accomplishes neither with us. We know what you are trying to do, and we know why you are trying to do it. We know about your “hidden agenda.”

So, let me see if I understand correctly:
ALL christians who reject evolution are just regurgitating the idiocies of others, but pro evolution people are intelligent, thinking people? Is that about right?
Seems to me that Both sides have chosen which person to parrot, unless, of course, each and everyone has done his or her own research, testing and scientific legwork to develope his or her own conclusion!

...

As for the idea of adding genetic material (and I DO understand the concept, fully), evolution would directly oppose the second law of thermodynamics, which, basically states, that all things break down and lead to disorder, therefore "higher life would NOT come from lower life.

...

Of course one could argue that man's intellect is the trump card. Is it?
Man, as a group, is not very inventive. Man learns what is taught, and that is often only after certain force is brought to bare.
EVERY habitat has predators that can destroy man, when man is separated from his technology.
Beyond all else, man's self destruction would aid all other methods that occur naturally, to end man's existance. Survival of the fittest would most assuredly have seen man's extinction millenia ago, if it were really true.
Survival of the fittest is true in only a limited sense and within a species, not as an inter-species, winner take all scenario.

AiG is winning the debate!

I will never send my kids to public schools to become Darwinists. I will teach them real Biblical science because I am a scientist at AiG!

I used to be a secular scientist but all the Darwinist journals rejected my work because I am a YEC. After all this persecution, I went to AiG and they accepted me.

Well Im glad I scare you, because if you've experienced the things that Ive experienced, like talking face to face with "monsters" from hell, you will not be able to sleep for months. This life is NOT as normal as you think it is. Im still training, and its been over 2 years since I became a serious christian, Im still not used to it, I even sometimes wish it wasnt like this. You think your not effected by these things? Rest assured that there are horrific things that lurk in your very bedroom at night, you think the boogyman was just made up? You think sleep paralysis is what wikipedia says it is? ( a good example because it happens to everyone at least once)

This life is scary, and the only way to escape from it is Jesus, and you all are completely vulnerable, and you dont care.... Your the ones who scare me to be that sure of what you know.... Maybe Im not as brave as I think. Maybe.

(On a topic about an atheist pro-choicer. This may not be entirely religion-related but nevertheless...)

Please tell me this is a joke. Tell me this ignorant murder-advocating scumbag isn't walking the streets polluting what little morality still lives on in the world...

How about I kill him eh?? How would he feel if I took poison and injected it into his brain stem, or sucked him through a tube that would crush the life from him, or picked away at his arms and legs until there was nothing left but his head and then crushed that too? The nerve of some people. To sit there and say something they KNOW for a fact is wrong. Atheist or not. As far as I'm concerned he can rot and/or burn in hell with the rest of his atheist assholes.

Once you involve the supernatural in your life, you become more creative. A lot of atheists look "too logically" about everything when we really should be having fun! It's no fun to keep analyzing and thinking logically about everything. It hinders the creative side of your brains. I was trying WAY TOO HARD to find a natural explanation and my friend went, "Dude, you've exhausted every possible situation and explanation. Just let it go and just accept it was probably a ghost. Why is that so bad? It's pretty fun." He was right. Why WAS I fighting it so much and trying to push naturalism so much? It wasn't fun and there was no point.

Why are atheists, non believers, whoever such hypocrites?
Ive found ALOT of atheists and agnostict people on here to be the biggest, most ignornant hypocrites. I just read a question "What do christians think about the end of the world?" and someone posted "thats the thing, christians dont think". That is the biggest hypocritical statement I've ever read. First off, religion involves very little thinking and a whole lot of faith. In my opinion, atheists and non-believers are scared, scared of whats to come. So they play it off with sarcastic answers and try to cover up their inner feelings. There is no one on this earth that fears nothing and majority of normal people fear the unknown. So I would just like an answer to why do atheists play this little game of "I can't believe what I dont see"....because thats a hypocrite statement too. So you mean to tell me, anything you cant see you dont believe? So how do you beileve that every soda you ever drank was perfectely fine for your health...you weren't there to see it tested before it was bottled?

Quote# 39253

It is amazing how the Bible agrees with itself. Just today, a brother and I were making rounds getting food for the dinner for the bus kids. At the chicken restaurant (we got 300 pieces of chicken for the bus kids and workers), as we were loading the chicken into the church van, a man approached us begging. It was obvious he had not eaten, and judging by his shakes, it was obvious he wanted more wine. He explained how he needed money because he had no job. We gave him a meal in the restaurant and offered to contact the rescue mission. We explained how the mission would give him a warm bed, three meals a day, clean clothes, etc. We also explained to him that he would be expected to work, attend church and attend chapel twice a day. He wanted no part of the work and chapel. In fact, while the brother I was with was getting his meal, I sat down with him and tried to share the Gospel of Christ. He wanted no part of that either. He just kept telling me how didn't have a job and how he needed money. My guess is that he wanted money for wine. Biblically, he has no right to eat until he works for his food. I am sick of people claiming that the church should meet the needs of everyone in the community who begs. It is the obligation of the church to take care of the brethren - those who are in the church who are serving God.

(Nice try, Bro. Randy, but Matthew 25:31-46 disagrees.)

i have to laugh when i hear all these so-called science freaks talk about how evolution is a fact in a given matter. try understanding the phrase.... " theory of evolution." for those who need help.. a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it. all the so-called facts you talk about keep changing in content & context as science discovers that they have to adjust their thinking to save face. prove that evolution is a hard & given fact, without a doubt & maybe you'll be doing something worthwhile. up to this point, i hear nothing but rederick without facts.

You can say he was proven wrong, I say otherwise. I saw the videos on YouTube, and while it may have been enough proof for someone looking to prove Behe wrong, it was not enough proof for someone unbiased like me.

To the open-minded, the bacterial flagellum remains irreducibly complex.

[...] Is a husband, pinning his wife down to have sex with her rape? What defines rape in a marriage?

When she says, "No."?

See, even then, I have a problem with it. A wife and husband are to give to each other of this. If a man is pinning her down, yet lovingly trying to... ehh it's too "grey". I hate it. It's of Satan, and the liberals are holding hands with Satan on this one.. destroy marriage with "rights" and villifying your spouse. Satanswants to break down the church and marriage. He wants us to think we don't need God, or each other....

The notion of marital rape. It's almost an oxymoron. It actually sounds like a litigous term used by 3rd Reich Femi-Nazi Women's Lib Czar's who hate God, burn flags, don't eat meat, and glorify same sex sexual relationships.

Disgusting.

Yes, it would be insensitive and unloving for a man to force his wife to do something sexual. If he took a gun or another inanimate object out and threatened her life, or her health, yes, that could be seen as rape. Yet, if he was aggressive in order to persuade her, I could see that as a wonderful thing. Wonderful? YES.. because that could be the answer to some dynamic in thier relationship. [...]

The "circular reasoning" argument is absurd. That's like saying you can't prove that the President lives in the White House by looking into the White House. It is looking into the White House that will provide the necessary proof. The fulfilled prophecies, the amazing consistency, and the many scientific statements of the Bible prove it to be the Word of God. They provide evidence that it is supernatural in origin. See also Psalm 119:105.

Quote# 39246

When you have an operation, your spiritual armour is not in place due to anesthesia and cutting of the flesh. GOD does not want us to depend on surgery. It is the same as if you were drunk and passed out. Demons can come into the body and soul at that time.

GOD's perfect will for you is to be delivered and healed by the Power Of God rather than to be cut on and passed out by surgery and medicine. His permissive will is for you to go to the medical profession for healing. However, you pay the spiritual consequences for using the world rather than God's methods.

I found this out by experience with my wife, Earline. She had an operation after cutting the tip of her finger off. She lost her joy in THE LORD after sewing her finger into her palm to make a new finger tip. Win Worley and another pastor took her through deliverance in our home. When she was to have the final operation of cutting her finger out of her palm, I stayed outside of the operating room and prayed constantly to prevent this from happening again. I was not able to do this and had to take Earline through deliverance again.
