MONTREAL — The leader of a fringe evangelical movement kept his so-called marriage to a 10-year-old girl hidden from her mother despite using it to lay claim to her body, a Quebec court heard Wednesday.

Daniel Cormier, who headed the now-defunct Church of Downtown Montreal, says the marriage gave him the right to have sexual relations with the girl. But as she was cross-examined by Cormier, the girl's mother denied ever being aware of a marriage.

"My first knowledge of this so-called marriage was when court proceedings started," said the woman, who like her daughter cannot be identified.

"I spoke to (my daughter) and (she) doesn't remember any kind of marriage," she added. "She doesn't remember marrying you."

Cormier, 57, stands accused of a variety of sex-related crimes, including sexual exploitation and sexual assault. He is also charged with sexually exploiting a different 16-year-old girl.

[...]

As justification he has cited their 1999 marriage in the church which he founded.

The mother has said she thought the ceremony was a birthday party for her daughter and even baked a cake for the occasion. [...]

Why do atheists claim to know all about science BUT don't know that the earth had a water canopy around it?
before the flood and that it is the reason for the flood????

here are the FACTS concerning the True Science of the great flood.
1) Earth was water vapor canopy surrounding the earth before the flood.
2) water was stored in small ice particles distributed in equatorial rings around the earth similar to those around Venus.
3) water canopy collapsed (Genesis 7:11, 8:2) and fell as rain.
4) Volcanic eruptions associated with the breaking up of the fountains of the great deep (Genesis 7:11) thrown dust into the water vapor canopy, causing the water vapor to nucleate on the dust particles and make rain. (Genesis 7:12)
5) water canopy would also affect the global wind systems. Also, the mountains were almost certainly not as high before the flood as they are today.
6) there was no such thing as "arctic" and "antarctic" before the flood.

You will not find a more quaky/crazy group of people than these "eco" types. The young fellow I dealt with tonight, shortly after my phone evangelism, was one of these, but with a twist. You see, for some strange reason, the young man tried real hard to find common ground between what I was preaching with his "granola", "eco", "peace-and-love" philosophy. I would tell him of his need to repent, and he would answer that everyone should repent of how we are trashing the planet...For about 10 minutes we exchanged our views which were obviously contradictory, but the young man affirmed that we were on the same "mission" (kind of sounded like the professions of some Romanists on this blog).

"No," I told the young man, "you and I are not talking the same language my friend. You see, you're trying to make the world a better place through carnal means such as being sweet to your neighbour, picking up trash, and promoting some sort of benevolent socialism. That totally isn't what I'm about. I'm not trying to make this fallen world a better place... it will never be a good place... that is, not until the Lord Jesus Christ returns. Then, and only then will the Earth get cleaned up, men will live in peace with their neighbours, and the Lord will rule over all in righteousness. What I'm about tonight? I'm preaching the Gospel of Life so that God's sheep could be saved out of the ways of this evil and perverse world."

There is great harm in homosexual acts. You may say "well its just sex , how can it hurt". There are many factors both physical and spiritual. First the homosexual community has a very high suicide rate, which shows there is great post-coital depression in gay couples. The worst is what it does to the state of your soul, which puts you in a state of mortal sin and denial. Lastly the per captia percentage of AIDS and other STDS in the gay community has a much higher per captia rate than heterosexuals. Meaning if you are gay you have greatly a higher risk of a lower life span. I believe the average life of a homosexual is a little over 40 years old. Lastly the sex in itself is dangerous, since the colon was designed to expel waste and has a very thin walls that are not designed to have things inserted against it. There is always risks of things like fissures, perforation, and infection due to contact with bacteria like e-coli and salmenella.

{Actually, the statement that we came from bacteria is abiogenesis which has yet to be successfully replicated. Evolution tells how species change and nothing more.}

Well it's imposible for something like a bacteria to actually do that. Everything had to have been made by a supior force also know as God. It's imposible to have a half developed lung or heart.

{Nothing is impossible if you can DREAM |3

But really, some people would probably say the same thing about your god. I mean, the whole notion that a race was sustained by two people(one created from mud, the other made from a rib) and loads of incest sounds a lot more like mythology than the notion that things can adapt and change over time.}

First off it's God with a capital G and second Adam was made from the dust of the earth not mud. And who knows maybe God made other people after Adam and Eve after the fall of man. Plus nobody knows how the mind of God works.

Remember this. Science by concensus is not science. It is politics under the guise of science headed by political monkeys out to pelt anyone who disagrees.
Lets break down the salient points, which the evolutionist followers, who are pretty akin to a religious institution, in spite of their howls to the contrary, are.

Evolution: Random mutations caused the changes and evolution of all species. All life began with one single cell organism. Never mind the complexity, nor that Darwin himself said if it would take more than one change to facilitate evolution, his entire theory was useless.
There is not one missing link. There are tens of thousands.

Creationism: Some dude pulled everything out of his wazoo from nothing and bang!! Here we are.

Intelligent Design: Someone/thing took the available items and, using intelligence, designed all the lifeforms and things in existence and tuned it to work properly.
A better way to put this, so that the evo's can scream from their pews, is imagine someone has all the materials to build something. They forge, pound, sand and weld. In the end, five tons of material is now a Ferrarri GT.
That is intelligent design. Evolution is, well, two fucking monkeys who nail a goat and come up with a squirrel.

Hey Deadbeat here (guess the name was taken). for the record, I think ID is silly, but this film does highlight as I said, the Atheistic bias in science and education. Atheists are busily running around claiming God is somehow proven not to exist, and like Dawkins, trying to claim that religious training of your own children is abuse. That is purely ridiculous, and in America flatly unconstitutional.

And the Seventh Circuit court did rule that Atheism is Equivalent to a religion.

[in reference to Matt LaClair, the student who recorded his history teacher's inane religious ramblings last year]

Matt does not rock, he actually sucks. What wasnt mentioned was that Matt staged the teacher into talking about religion and in several tapes that were posted publicly, you can hear the teacher saying "should we go on with this or is anyone uncomfortable with this subject" and not one person said that they were uncomfortable. And then Matt proceeded to ask the teacher what his opinion is. The teacher point blank said, "well my opinion is if you reject the lords salvation you belong in hell"

And also, how canyou applaud a meer teenager who put a parent and husbands career on the line. And not only did he stop there he thought it was nessecary to sue the whole school system of Kearny. Your in a history classroom, your going to talking about religions. Actually your first history class at kearny high is about all the different religions that are practiced in the world. And the teacher whom I've had for history class, is a straight forward guy he would liketo think he can answer stude

Area newspapers gave the record-burning front-page coverage. One reporter from the Los Angeles Times staged a photograph showing me hammering a John Denver album to pieces. The story made the event resemble Hitler’s book burning in Nazi Germany. Parents became alarmed by my tactics and phoned the school: "What’s going on over there? Are you fanatics trying to brainwash our children?" Some parents even threatened to remove their children from the school...

Despite the unexpected setbacks, I was still certain that I was right. The negative influence of rock music continued to crop up in counseling sessions with my students. Time after time, I saw actions patterned after the immoral behavior of rock stars. Students showed allegiance by the vocabulary they used, the song and album titles printed on their book jackets, the posters they hung on their walls, the music they listened to in their cars, and the clothes they wore. They were hooked!

not much has been studies about the 40hz vibrational state, because it's more common to aboriginal, shamanic, African, south American , tribal peoples etc, who play drums, and didgereedoos and dance for days and days

normal transcendental meditation states are observed in westerners around 7.83 hz, the same as the earth itself, and quartz crystal

I think atheism is harmful to society and an abuse of the first amendment, like shouting "Fire" in a theater. And one place it most certaily doesn't belong, and most certainly is deletrious is on the battlefield where morale and faith is everything to the mind of a soldier.

I'm not ashamed of myself for this belief. If they could courts martial this guy, I'd be all for it. I think they should discharge him immediately. I don't think they should allow atheists to serve in he military.

[later on in the thread]

I'm surprised the commander didn't pull out his 9 and cap him right then and there. We're talking about Iraq. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT DEFENDING THE WORLD AGAINST FUNDAMENTALISM that would have all our heads cut off. Atheists are the ones who are marginalized in this war. This is between competing religions for world domination.

Tom asked his Mom and Dad if he could go with some friends to see an R-rated movie that was showing at their local theater. "You know that we don’t approve of R-rated movies," answered his Dad. ‘There are things in there that neither adults nor teenagers need to be watching." Tom turned on his heels and stormed up the steps and just before he turned the corner he piped, "You and mom are so old fashioned. That movie only has a few cuss words and one sex scene in it. It’s not like it’s a porno movie or anything."

Later in the evening when Tom had calmed down at bit, he was drawn downstairs by a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen. "Whatcha making, Mom?" he asked as he gave her a quick hug. "Well I thought I would make you a treat tonight. A pan of brownies is almost ready to come out of the oven."

Just then the buzzer sounded and Tom’s mouth began to water in anticipation of the savory treat. Mom cut into the moist, steaming brownies and put the largest one on a plate and handed it to Tom. Just as he was about to sink his teeth into the gooey delight, his mom said, "Oh by the way, along with the flour, sugar, butter, cocoa, and baking soda, I added a teeny bit of Petey’s dog doo-doo to the batter. But don’t worry, it was only a small amount, you probably won’t even notice it."

(Why was Hitler's free will more important than the free will of his six million victims?)

Hmmm. . . i will not answer this question because this is not the first time God has done what He must to His people. And He warned them many times. See Old testement. deuteronomy 28 verse 15-68. Remember that the jews have a covenant with God that says He will do this to them if they do not obey. Which they agreed too.

(Why doesn't god simply take people to heaven the instant they convert? That would prevent backsliding and save more souls.)

What would stop you to backslide in heaven like Satan? And what if you reform in hell? Till jughment day you can still chose between good and evil as we know it.

I am on another board (secular)

I was reading a thread about prayer and how people get offended when people say that they will pray for them.

As I was reading some of the comments back and forth, I was just amazed at the out and out hatred or what appears to be hatred towards God. As well as the out and out non-belief for no good reason.

There was NEVER a time in my life, that I DID NOT believe in God, or that I did not love Him. Even before I was saved I loved God.

So my question is this, as children did these people not believe in God? As children don't we just naturally KNOW there is a God? What happened to that knowledge?

I don't understand non-belief, in anything for that matter. Especially in the western world. I noticed that a lot of the "so called" intellectuals (s) are the ones who do not believe. I think there is so much scientific evidence to prove the existence of God. Why do they not see it?

We're in a spiritual war. This war is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual powers of Satan and his demons (Eph. 6:12). For most Christians it's a little hard to get worked up about this war, since we don't have the threat of real bullets zinging past our heads every day. But wait, there are real bullets being aimed at us! Did you ever stop to think that the immorality and false ideas of much of today's entertainment media are the ammunition in this war?
