[In response to asking how genes 'know' what to do and being told "Physics, more specifically chemistry, even more specifically biochemistry. In other words, it's just the way matter works."]

oh, well that explains it. Right....it's just the way it is. Matter does intelligent things for no reason.....if this is the religion that helps you guys sleep at night, then more power to you.

Just curious though....what makes you think genes aren't broken down into millions of sub-parts....and how do all the sub-parts know what to do?...what makes them all stick together to form a gene?...what if some of them don't care to play along?.....do these subparts make their own decisions too? In fact, you could just keep getting smaller and smaller and smaller unil the physical completely disappears, yet the wave (or field, or whatever's left) still somehow knows what to do.

1 and 10, because we got our laws on murder here in the U.S. from the Bible. They're identical to the law in the Bible, basically. The Bible is the foundation of morality. All religions have a moral code that originates mostly with the Bible. You can find parts of the Bible's moral code in basically all other religions. But you cannot find one other religion's moral code in all of the other religions moral codes unless they're identical to the Bible. I find that very telling of the source of all morals...

Pakistan's attempts to block access to YouTube has been blamed for an almost global blackout of the video website for more than an hour on Sunday.

BBC News has learned that the outage was almost certainly connected to Pakistan Telecom and Asian internet service provider PCCW.

A leading net professional said the global outage was "probably a mistake".

Pakistan ordered internet service providers to block the site because of content deemed offensive to Islam.

Quote# 35481

I know I'll probably get as much flak from this next post as I did two years ago, but this is weighing heavily on my heart and mind, and I believe that another "threshhold line" is being approached with the movie Juno which is up for Academy Award for Best Picture. Two years ago, when Brokeback Mountain was nominated for Best Picture of the Year for the 78th Academy Awards, I wrote that we -- The United States of America -- as a nation should expect Judgment from God if Brokeback... was the winner of Best Picture. I believe that, this year, if Juno wins Best Picture, we should see God's judgment as well. I may receive a lot of criticism (just like I did in `06 with Brokeback...), but I believe that this abomination of a movie is one of the worst ever made, and the fact that it has been nominated for Best Picture is a line in which the USA cannot, and must not, cross, as this will affect millions of teens world wide, encouraging them to totally disrespect their parents and their parents' authority, and enter into (or continue in) sexual relationships, which -- as statistics show -- is unhealthy, dangerous, and ultimatetly destructive for all parties involved. The fact that Juno glosses over the consequences of teenage sexual promiscuity, teenage pregnancy, and parental authority, not to mention glorifies divorce, and makes a mockery of sexual purity in general, is enough to make one wretch and weep at the direction modern society is going towards. I seriously fear for world-wide society at large, and US Society in particular, if such a movie is given the highest award in the world that a film can receive. And yes, I do blelieve that God will seriously expedite his execution of sentence for the USA if Juno wins best picture...

About five years ago, I awoke to a very loud noise; it was one long roaring tone like a trumpet. I was so sure it was the rapture, I started pleading "please Lord, take me".

But it was the fire department across the street: they sometimes blow thier horn when they are backing the firetruck into the garage.

I liked Leon Brown's question to one atheist while he was open air preaching, he asked the man, "How many grains of sand are in the beach out there" (referring to the beach that was nearby) The man of course says "I have no idea", Leon goes on to say "And you're gonna tell me there is no God. And you can't tell me how many grains of sand are there. In this big world, so infinite and vast you can't tell me how many grains of sand are there, and yet you can tell me there is no God"

To all the atheists that continue to try to dazzle everyone with your big fancy words...Blah, Blah, Blah!! We have heard it all before and guess what...you are still not convincing. Nobody is biting. We have lost faith in scientist to answer some very basic questions like, “Why are we here? How can everything come from nothing? Why is there anything instead of nothing? Or, if information comes from a mind, then how can the information from DNA have originated from inert chemicals?” They come up with silly things like Punctuated Equilibrium to explain the Cambrian Explosion or multi-verses to explain how everything came from nothing. Silly, silly, silly! Is it no wonder that we laugh at your scientific mumbo jumbo?! You don’t have to be a scientist to see that the God of the Bible makes way more sense and answers ALL of our questions with logic and reason.

["Even if this country was built on so called judeo-christian principles, which it most assuredly was not"]

This is the funniest statement in the post. Judeo-Christian principles introduced the world to caring for others, care of the less fortunate, freedom, not stealing, killing, et al. Certainly, this country was based on those principles. Prior to these Judeo-Christian principles, people were eating each other, there was no "civilization" as we know it. If you believe these words, you are an idiot.

okay, so in my high school there is this one lesbian girl, a senior, who is really up for the gay rights stuff and she came up with this "gay club" on our campus. I could not believe it when I saw how corrupt our schools are. This thing will have a pretty bad impact on my high school...how will God be on our side if we have that club in our school. sad.gif
So I want to ask you men and women of God, to pray against this spirit of homosexuality on my campus, and specifically for this club that has a lot of people in it. Please, please pray about this because I really need the strength of the Lord to stand against that club, even though I myself have some gay feelings, but I crucify them at the Cross every morning.
Jesus has the final word in this situation, so guys, we are on the winning side already, so please pray against the wickedness in my high school.
The name of the girl who made this club is Shelly. Pray for her also because she is not only on the road to hell, but she is also draging a lot of people down with her.

I'll keep you in touch with what the Lord is doing in my high school.

I think you've got it backwards. Atheism is a religion which is trying to pull the wool over our eyes by pretending its doctrines are affirmed by evolution, thus giving us the FALSE illusion that Atheism = Science. In this endevour, they seek to monopolize evolution as their own, which is completely arbitrary.
