(So? The root of the word "gay" is that of being happy and joyful.

Words change over time, and so do their meanings!)

In that you are quite wrong. Words do not change meanings. When someone is trying to corrupt the language they are always trying to hide the true intent of their agenda. Saying that black means white will never make black be white, it only confuses the issue.

You raise a valid point. I love the story of Creation and have researched it, so I'll admit an 'eye witness account' couldn't be by anyone but God Himself, or Adam.

In the past there has been controversy about whether Moses actually wrote the book of Genesis, or plagiarized it from the accounts of Creation and the flood taken from early documents of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Enoch, Isaac, and Jacob. (did I leave anyone out?)

However now ancient writings have been found in the Middle East dating back as far as 3500 B.C. which would be when Adam was still alive. No one even knew that writing went back that far! I think that's so neat.

So anyway, since Adam was alive during that period of time, he very well could have written the accounts as he knew it of Creation, making it a 'first hand account', which proves that these documents were passed on from one generation to the next, and put together into one book called the BOOK OF GENESIS! Cool, huh?

God has promised to preserve His Holy Word unto all generations which would include ours. God is not the author of confusion, thus the entire textual criticism arguments are against that simple truth. Most dangerous is the current emphasis on studying the “original” languages from current lexicons which have unfortunately been corrupted. What a shame to spend so much time trying to find the “truth” of the Bible in an earthly corrupt lexicon, when God has already provided a pure text in English for all to read, study and memorize already.

* The King James Bible contains God's built-in dictionary, defining each word, in its context, using the very words of the Webster's and Oxford English Dictionaries!
* The King James Bible has a vocabulary and reading level which slowly builds progressively from Genesis to Revelation.
* The King James Bible uses words with the appropriate sound symbolism. It has a vocabulary that phonaesthetically fulfills the Bible's own description of itself as "powerful."
* The King James Bible is the only extant access we have to the pure language lexicons of the 16th and 17th centuries.
* The King James Bible gives a transparent view of the Greek and Hebrew vocabulary, grammar and syntax.
* The King James Bible has internationally recognizable vocabulary and spelling.
* The King James Bible uses literary devices which enhance doctrinally important concepts and memorability.
* The King James Bible has a sentence structure which enhances accurate doctrinal interpretation.
* The King James Bible's words and sentences are patterned and woven through its fabric so as to provide a consistency of form and content.
* The King James Bible has the precision and longevity of the legal document that it is.

I stand behind fully capable and professional scientists that sound alot more plausible and in line with scripture imo.
tossing around scientific lingo doesn't impress me much - I hear both sides going at it and you may as well be speaking in Chinese; when nonscientific people hear 2 opposing scientific experts going at it, it doesn't convey one is more correct than the other becuz they are ignorant of the science itself.
Apply Bible text to it, and then some can start making better assessments. & some may never know or come to any conclusion.
and that's Ok too.

Thankfully none of us have to know science of any kind to be a born again Christian, so I don't divide on that merit.

Why do many denominations ordain women as pastors considering Jesus only chose men as his apostles and Paul's teachings on women not speaking in church? I have never understood this as it seems to me like it disregards Biblical teachings.

[Scientific Theory - very similar to a scientific law, it is an explanation of many sets of related observations made by many different researchers, the difference between a law and a theory is that a law governs one single action, a theory explains a whole group of related events.]

This is the great lie the evolution purveyors tell us.This was never a proper definition of theory until the last 30 years or so. As I said in that other post, the root of the word "theory" in Attic Greek is that of an unproven hypothesis, something that is "pretended" for the sake of argument. The evolution fraud has a tremendous amount of influence in all realms of society, because Merriam-Webster doesn't even give the etymology of the English word or its Greek root, as it commonly does for almost every other word that comes to our language from another. That is downright scary, to a certain extent, because it means the evolution fraud is actually a conspiracy against God, and is intended ultimately to displace Him with "good loving kind" concepts of a fallen race, a race that has no hope without Jesus Christ but which will never know that if the gospel is swamped and sunk by this ludicrous pack of lies disguised as "science."

I believe more poeple have been killed in the name of atheism any other religion. Stalin murdered millions to create a godless Soviet Union, Mao murdered millions in communist China, in the name of atheism. If the athiests believe God is just a myth, why do they expend so energy trying to eliminate Him from society. I believe Santa and the Easter Bunny are myths, but I don't demand removal of all references to them. It seems to me you are not just athiests, you are anti-theists. There is a difference.

Think atheistic, elite professors should have more power? A tenured Ivy League professor just admitted that he killed his wife, and then falsely made it look like a burglary. The article did not disclose his religious views, but did say he will receive a light prison sentence "of no more than seven years" for his crime.

Quote# 31675

In a nutshell, my father, mother and brother all at about the same time (during Thanksgiving dinner) said that no matter what religion you are, there is ONE GOD and ALL RELIGIONS (if they do good in thier religion that is) have the same God and will go to Heaven. My dad can't get past the "what if someone from a little village never heard of Jesus........". My mother thinks the Bible has been translated so many times over and over that not everything is correct. And my brother said "yes a muslim will go to Heaven just like we will, as long as he does good". I TRY talking to them without arguing. I TRY explaining what I know, but it always ends up with "well anyway, lets not get into that right now........lets eat Turkey !" OR whatever...you get what Im sayin. THEN......I brought all this up to my husband and he started with "Well Im not too keen on the whole HELL thing, I mean why would a loving God send ANYONE to hell"? So, I just really DO NOT KNOW how to talk to any of them. I bought my dad the book The Case For Christ, but he never read it. I thought my mom was saved, but now I wonder. Same with my husband...now I don't know where he's at with Jesus. Ugh. Are there any websites? stories? emails? anything...? I can send them? I will tell you this too. It made me feel very alone. Very very alone. Like I am crazy...and who-am-I-to-think-this-is-the-only-way-to-Heaven. Help.

Annie said: "... there had to be a sun before there
were trees"

Right, but the trees in the fossil record older than
40,000 years ago didn't have to have had the same sun
that we have today. The cataclysm, such as a comet
strike, could have knocked the earth out of its
proper orbit around another sun and sent the earth
wandering into interstellar space. The trees which
God miraculously restored to the earth (Genesis
1:11-13) after the cataclysm did have a temporary
light source (Genesis 1:3-5) which could have
supported photosynthesis; even if it didn't, the
trees could have easily survived for one day until a
new sun was created for the restored earth (Genesis
1:16-19).

Quote# 31677

If you didn't know it, the Earth is the center of the Universe. It is written in the colors of the stars. The stars and their galaxies give off a red light shift away from their natural color because they are all moving away from the Earth. So no matter where a telescope looks in the uniform sky, the galaxies are all moving away from us. How could this be? Well, it's simply because the Lord created the Earth and our Sun and all the stars (other suns) using the Earth as the Center of Creation. From this central hub, the galaxies are moving away, causing a red light shift. There is no other explanation.

When you also check out the Scriptures of the Creator, you’ll note that the Earth is NOT just another planet among the billions of planets the Lord has made. It was here, and not in some far-flung galaxy, where the Lord of All Creation was born and crucified. It is here that the Lord of Lords brings down his ETERNAL CITY, New Jerusalem. There is no other Savior in the Universe--only Jesus.

We are not situated on just a planet in the sand of the seashores of all heavenly bodies; we are on the Earth which is the center of the whole Universe. This is what the WORD says and what science proves.

There are two things I do that I wonder if I'm the only one in the world who does these.

1. In a store, getting my stuff rang up and it comes out to $6.66, I always ask if they can change the price...most do it, either a penny up or down.

2. If I have a Bible set on a desk, I never put my wallet on top of it...well anything else either, because I feel that doing that might be a message that I value those items more than the Word.

Anyone else have any odd quirks??

I hope this movie is big. If so, it might just open up the eyes of some of the masses who've been completely and totally dumbed down by the scientific community. If there's one thing ToE can't stand, it's an informed, educated public....a public that knows the whole story -- both sides -- not just one. As this documentary reveals, there's a very good reason why darwinists are so hostile towards creationists and IDists.....but I won't spoil it here....it's in the clip.

“Received your book ‘Created to be his Help Meet’ and have let the Lord give me a grateful heart towards my ‘Steady’ man. I just told my mom the other day about this book, and that I could no longer talk negatively about my husband. After 2 days of a changed attitude, he went and bought me a brand-new vacuum cleaner, even though I was willing to take a secondhand one. I was tickled pink! I am very thankful that the Lord has given me a chance, and has put a woman like you to teach us younger women. In fact, I am so grateful, that yesterday I wept!”

Jewish Food Tax

On every pantry shelf in America, lay dozens of canned and packaged food products which have a tiny "K" or "U" printed on the label.

This symbol informs Orthodox Jews that the items have been checked by a rabbi, to make sure that they have been prepared in accordance with "Jewish Dietary law", as set forth in the Jewish Talmud -(the real "bible" of the Jews.)

American food companies are forced to pay multi-billions of dollars to several Orthodox Jewish organizations, just so an estimated 10% to 20% of Jewry, (or 800,000 to no more than 1.2 million Orthodox Jews), will buy their products. Please bear in mind that this is a country of 270 million people, and we are all forced to pay this Kosher Tax, just to appease LESS THAN ONE PERCENT OF THE POPULATION!

This comes out of your pocket !

Beware: Each nation has its own symbol. Check in local Jewish publications, to find out what mark of the beast, is being used in your own country.

This is strictly a religious tax, which millions of non-Jews unknowingly pay each time they buy a basket load of groceries! What would happen if a group of Christian ministers or priests got together, and demanded that all companies pay them a similar tax? They could use a "C," symbol (for Christian), or a cross, (for Christ), threatening that those who refuse to print such a label on their products would be boycotted by Christians.

If that happened you would hear an enraged outcry from the ACLU, American Jewish Committee, Jewish Anti-Defamation League, etc. They would be filing suits to stop this "violation of the Constitutional provisions providing for the separation of Church and State." But, because of the Jews' centuries old claim of being "a poor persecuted people" along with the Christian fear of being accused of "anti-Semitism," there is a deafening silence on this problem. Note: Modern Jews are not Semites, or the Jews of the Bible.

earth to Mark....science very rarely admits its wrong....about anything. Scientists don't like showing up their comrads.....it's a little game they play: "I won't step on your toes if you don't step on mine." And your little challenge, the way it is worded, is virtually impossible to beat because the way science generally dates rocks is by the fossils they find in them. Therefore, there is almost no way to prove circular reasoning because re-dating a fossil has nothing to do with the dating of the rock -- it's all about assumptions made on the date of the fossil. I'm sure fossils are redated all the time -- but it's not because the rock changed or that they misdated the rock because of the rock it was in ------ they just simply re-date the fossil whenever they want, plain and simple.

So Derwood, who doesn't believe the mind can accomplish anything -- at least his can't because he doesn't believe he has one that can accomplish anything constructive -- how exactly does the placebo effect work....you know, where your thoughts and belief's cure disease? do you believe in such a thing, or do you just play the denial game with that too? And if you don't play the denial game, what exactly is this MECHANISM for the placebo effect. If you care to answer that you will have your answer as to what the MECHANISM is for the mind generating new, adaptive physical traits....you know, that "mechanism" that science is chicken to test? I would suggest whatever strange entity is responsible for the placebo effect is the same strange entity responsible for new, adaptive physical traits in organisms.
