It seems to me that this alternative discipline psycho babble is a relatively new phenomenon. For generations parents have spanked their kids and society seemed much safer and much more orderly. I think there is definitely a correlation between lack of physical discipline and a society that degrades itself to a godless society. Remember when the phrase "wait 'til your father gets home" put fear into the hearts of children. It was a respectful fear that should be exuded towards all authority figures. In summary, I believe more kids these days need a good spanking. Maybe we would have less of the Columbines (school shootings) and rebelliousness in the world if more Fathers acted like fathers.

If I found that Jesus did not rise again, then, I am not sure what I would do. Faith requires me to believe anyway. The "faithful" thing to do would be to say that you had somehow rigged the system to show me a false version of the events. The logical thing to do would be to stop believing. I sure HOPE (and I know you are going to be disappointed with this answer) that my faith would be strong enough to believe even when my own eyes tell me otherwise.

I believe God decides and chooses who will be Watchers, it isn't something we ourselves get to choose to become. I wonder all the time why God chose me to be a Watcher, I certaintly don't feel worthy of such an honor and gift. In fact I pray everyday that God will find me worthy enough to not be left behind. I know I am saved, but there is a scripture (I can't remember where it is at the moment) that says we are to constantly pray to be worthy enough. I know I fall short every single day. For the life of me I can't figure out why I was chosen, although I feel very blessed for this honor. Does anyone know of any scriptures in the Bible that talks about what constitutes becoming a Watcher? And have any of you ever wondered the same thing?

Where does it say that God commanded them to stone her? The religious leaders commanded it not God. I have not read anywhere in the bible that if a person sins they must be stoned. And "cutting off one's hand if they steal" just shows that in the last case scenerio should eliminate what ever caused that person to steal which would be the hand. It was not meant as a punishment but as a symbol showing how important it is not to sin.

man the cruel murderous rampage i went on as a child is a sin. i asked for forgiveness though. i killed countless cats, birds, and dogs as a child. there where so may cats running around the neighborhood i couldn't stand it. i set up fur traps along the edge of the neighborhood along the woods and baited them with catfish heads. i must have had 10 -15 cats caught each day. i shot most of them with a .22 but sometimes i stabbed them with a spear i made. i used to throw stray dogs in the bayou and shoot them with a 410 right before they got to the bank. if i wounded a bird i would hang it. this was when i was 7 to 10 years old.

i was not only well armed with guns as a child, i was in the ninja crazy later on. i killed large dogs with one strike from my nunchuk. the ninja stars and blow guns didn't work so well.
