Life begins at conception, when the sperm and egg first meet. A new life immediately begins to form. This life must have nutrition, which the mother supplies through her body. Without nutrition, the new life starves to death. Just like when a newborn is first born, the life is there, but it will not sustain itself, it must have nutrition. ANY life must have nutrition to live and grow. If I take away your food, you will cease to grow and live and you will die. If a baby is born and you neglect to give it food, it will die. If an egg and sperm unite to form a new life and you neglect to feed it, it will die.

The morning after pill makes the uterine wall so hostile to the embryo that it can't attach itself, therefore it starves to death. It would be the same as someone cutting the umbilical cord to the baby growing inside of a woman. The baby would die without the nutrition provided.

Why is the media salivating over Schiavo as he travels around the country exploiting the death of his wife? He's not news, he's an opportunist.

Is he serious when he claims to be a "live and let live" guy?

He obviously didn't want his wife to live under any circumstances and did everything possible to insure that she would die, denying her virtually everything over the last dozen years of her life after he met Jodi Centonze and asked her to marry him.

His act is transparent and politicians would do well to stay their distance from him, lest he taint them and many are already wise to that, realizing that he's like the kiss of death and don't want to align themselves with him.

Schiavo can't even be a man, whining and being a crybaby, sniffling and snorting rudely as he stumbles through his script. Those crocodile tears that he's shedding are no more than an insincere show of sympathy. Crocodiles were once thought to "weep" large tears before they ate their victims.

The Numbers passage you cite should be taken in context. Israel was directed to attack the Midianites because of their earlier misconduct with the men of Israel. Through the urging of the prophet Balaam, the Midianite women had been having sex with the Israelite men and led them into idolatry. Instead of destroying these adulterous women, the Israelite men captured the women and children, plus other spoils of battle.

Moses was angry that Israel had disobeyed God's commands and ordered them to execute these women who had caused Israel to sin against the Lord. The young girls were spared execution because they had not been involved in the adulterous sin. It was not that they were spared so that Israel could have committed sexual crimes with them. The New Bible Commentary says of the sparing of these girls that "they became part of the nation." There is nothing impure in this motive - simply an extension of God's grace.
